  1. It's three accidents in the past 3 years (if I knew how to upload images on here I'd upload the copy of the document, the document also states"OR IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS FOR BUS OPERATOR CANDIDATES" I took a picture of it from my friend. Under the No Driving Restrictions state that (A3 and Eyeglasses) are stated as okay on the document as well. Thanks for you advice though, greatly appreciated . I told him basically wait until it's been a year before he reinstates himself (basically in October). I just hope that 4600 last until October before this list is exhausted. As far as myself, I know they won't allow me to drive with my hand in a brace so I myself have not reinstated until I get my hand out of the brace (around August), hopefully they got a class and everything goes smoothly. I'm using this time to finish my B permit. I called today to find out and I must say, Human Resources/Personnel there has a nasty attitude. Before we even spoke, no greeting, What do you want? Who answers a business phone like that? Question, not trying to get ahead of myself and while staying in the realm of this thread, what is driving a bus in the night time like? I imagine as a rookie, they give you the worst shift aka the nights, is that bad with drunk drivers and reduced visibility? What are the passengers like drunk and disruptful or just the regular overnight workers trying to get home/work? I posted alot and haven't said thank you enough, even though I'm still going through the process, I have had alot of my concerns answered and addressed promptly and clearly, thank you to everyone for your assistance and advice. I can never state that enough.
  2. If you went in person why do you have to put please? You had to fill out a form? Where did you go? DCAS at One Centre Street in Manhattan?
  3. I'm having the same issue for myself, someone told me yes but then someone said I have to wait. I was also concerned because like Frank, I'll have to reinstate when I'm medically fit which might be in August so I was wondering if I'd get called for the class that's supposed to be after the summer. But then like tdevon2012, I was wondering if I reinstate in July, would I be waiting months before I was called despite having an even higher list number of 12xx as he is 10xx and still hasn't been called since July. As far as my friend's situation who had the accident, someone told him to disclose the accident when he reinstates but wait until October, which was the date of his accident so that it would be a year after the accident and thus doesn't fall into the ACCIDENT IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS FOR BUS OPERATOR CANDIDATES category as was stated on the same form for NO DRIVING RESTRICTIONS. How sound is this advice? Also, how do you go about being reinstated? Do you just call or do you have to go there at Livingston Street in person. If you just call, the number to reinstate is it (347) 643-8230 or 8231?!?
  4. No i have the paper that says no more than 3 accidents in the years prior or no more than once accident in the last 12 months. What I wanted to know is if that would disqualify you immediately or would they just put your name on hold. My coworker at my current job also took the exam but he had an accident last August, August 31st to be exam, minor fender bender but still there's a police report so I'm asking to see if he should reinstate or just wait until the end of August to reinstate
  5. Would being in an accident in the last 12 months disqualify you immediately?
  6. Had surgery on my hand back in February, broken during attempted carjacking . I was called on the list already but put on hold to get restrictions removed. I can drive and have been driving but my hand is still in a cast. I've had my restrictions removed and i'm ready to go however when I call to get "reinstated". I don't want the list to expire/ basically miss my opportunity (12xx) Would I be placed on medical hold? Would my hand be an issue for the physical test; what does the physical test consist of? Running on a treadmill? Pushups? I've been reading that there won't be another class until the end of summer, how true is that? I'm thinking they wouldn't allow me to train with my hand in a cast until the cast is off which I totally understand , given a list number of 12xx, how long do I have approx. before the list is potentially exhausted? During this time, I'm trying to earn my CDL B before I hopefully get called to training, do you think the DMV would allow me to road test with a cast on my arm?? Just trying to make sure I take full advantage of this opportunity after having waited so long. Any thoughts/feedback will be greatly appreciated.
  7. Thanks for clarifying that it is indeed both cards that I need for the road test, the DMV at Barclays was not even sure about that, they had to call Albany to confirm. SMH. I will go and request a Class B CLP on at the one on Jamaica instead. Also, I agree, getting the CDL before is a huge plus. I'm socially awkward so I wasn't part of the discussion but when I went to the interview, had a few stories being told of individuals who passed the 10 day training and failed at the DMV. Least having the CDL, you already have half of what you need.
  8. Lol wow, this is my exact situation, CDL A with endorsements and the DMV at Barclay was telling me that I have to change my license to a B. I don't have the school bus endorsement though but i do have Passenger on my A, maybe that's why they didn't give me a B CLP? Also, is it that you had the license card and the paper permit for the road test or did you have a license card and a permit card as well? Because I was told that at the road test for the B permit, they don't accept the paper that you receive at the DMV, only the card that comes in the mail.
  9. I think that's how it works also, however the DMV near Barclays is retarded, even the Supervisors. They told me I have to change from an A to a B in order to get a B permit for the road test even though I have passenger endorsement. Yet on the phone with the DMV, the guy simply states as long as u have the passenger endorsement, u can take the road test. Just sharing the information as I got it
  10. So I have been busy but let me post and update. The K restriction is in fact a problem as well as any other restrictions. The only restriction allowed and according to the personnel, allowed under scrutiny, is the A3 nothing else. N2 restriction which cannot be removed until road test with DMV in a Bus despite having the passenger endorsement. The only restrictions allowed is the A3, no exceptions I was told.
  11. Man if they ask me to go staten island provided i make it thru, im moving out there. That commute is ridiculous. I went today. Still here, gonna be a long day. Thanks alot guys, appreciate all the information thus far, extremely helpful.
  12. I have to go into my appointent, it says no restrictions on your license. I've had my CDL but only used it in the state of NY so I have A3 E and K restrictions. As per the DMV website, "The two restrictions together will verify to law enforcement and USDOT representatives that you are not required to have a USDOT Medical Examiner's Certificate and that your operation is limited to New York State only." I don't want to go there and be denied and miss the opportunity because of this. If its an issue, will I be disqualified or will they just send me to get it done correctly if anyone can shed some light on this I would greatly appreciate it. Also, maybe just my instance but I got the letter Friday evening for a Tuesday Morning Appointment. Make sure you have all your documents nearby and up to date on your prior address and job history because I'm still struggling to remember.
  13. Guys the 10 day training, is it 10 straight days of training or do you get a break in between? I really hope its 10 straight days
  14. So just to be clear because I am a little slow, you don't have to notify them that you won't be attending the scheduled interview prior to the interview date? You don't have to call to say that you need a little more time or give them and explanation of some sort perhaps? Nothing at all? Are you guys sure about that, I'm abit skeptical because I don't want to simply disregard and then be told that I missed the opportunity of a lifetime. I too, want to reinstate after I complete my CDL (want to be able to take classes prior so that I am familiar rather than wait til 10 day training to focus on getting it all done. Also, this isn't a guaranteed thing yet, I definitely won't get any time off from my current job to attend the interview far less the 10 day training either, maybe in a month or so maybe. Rather not risk my little job i got now, trying to get a job
