  1. It' scheduled for this upcoming weekend. You should have received letter, it will be in 15th street in Manhattan this time.
  2. Congrats Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  3. @mastap123 saw someone line training on the M98. How many people came with you to MTV? Hope you had a good day. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. That's the best thing at MTV for me, we have the same buses, don't have to deal with RTS or Artic's. Yea sometimes I think why they don't give us new buses but then again, when snow storm come around, we have so many Orion's, that we have to end up lending buses to different depots because they can't have artics out during snow storms. (That means overtime if you don't mind moving buses after you finish, aside from overtime everyday cause you drive in Manhattan and traffic is crazy.) Only few lines do you get adjusted to make sure you make your relief on time. Word of advice... At MTV even on probation they will ask you if you want to work overtime. That's your call, I see new guys come in and work on their days off, like ya crazy... First thing they tell you is don't work overtime. I have kept that with me, 28 days left of probation and making sure I drive the least possible. I know we here for the money, but I pick runs with the least amount of hours for last 3 picks. Now I'm clearing probation , I'll pick a run with more hours for more money, but I managed my one year with the least possible. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  5. Parking is upstairs in the roof. The building itself is old so don't expect a high tech Depot. It's run down We only have Orion VII Hybrids, the buses used for 7 day training. The bus used for DMV road test always gets picked up from MTV. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  6. General pick is your best option to transfer to Brooklyn as you would get to find a open spot at a Depot you would want. Parking at the depot is a bit hard because there is alot of construction right now, during the am after 8am or early by 230pm you will not find parking. You can have someone teach you about 2nd floor parking or hit me up if no one tells you once your at MTV. Bus routes are not bad depending on time and day. Keep in mind, you will be driving in Manhattan, with tourist and bikes. Just take your time, get comfortable driving the bus and the rest is a piece of cake. Once you feel, like ok I know how to drive the bus and confident about pulling into stops the job becomes easier. ( Meaning, when you don't have to think, did I pull in at 5mph, kneel the bus, jntelock, open the door, close the door... Blah blah blah. ) I love driving in the city but that's because I grew up there and know landmarks and directions if asked. Every line passes thru a system of like of a variety of different neighborhood. Just don't let people stress you out. Bus stop to bus stop that's what we get paid to do. Don't worry about farebox. I created one file with the lines at MTV and it's what I used Everytime I did line training on that line. I wrote notes on the paper and used it when I went out on my own for the first time. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B67l-hDnwyQAYWQ3aHpoN2RJa0k/view?usp=drivesdk Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  7. They push alot of the classes to Manhattan because of the holidays. I'm at manhattanville, it's an ok Depot... Union not the greatest while your on probation but low seniority, so you can see a decent schedule within a year. I had midschedule last pick 1-9, and this pick I went late, off Thursday Friday. 8. Agreed with everyone. Again you have to make your own decision, on how much you are willing to put up with during the 10 stressful days, for a better future in the long run. Just like everything, it gets better with time. I'll be done with probation in one month, and so far it's only getting easier and easier not to let people or traffic get to you. Just drive one stop at a time. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  9. Agree from what I heard about Evans. Just hang in there, she's had alot of people resign on the spot cause they couldn't take it. Remember that's what day 8 and 9 are for. You get someone New. The people that stuck it out, qualified on day 9. Just try to take as much information and just hold on. First 7-10 days are the worst, they want to know who can handle the pressure and those who can't. Don't let one person who has a bad attitude, deviate you from the goal. 10. Trader Joe's does have it. Also a shop in Queens Blvd by briarwood called High Mango (13775 Queens Blvd, Jamaica, NY 11435) sold it as well. Not sure if they still do. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  11. What's a while ago? I do recall there's a grace period that you can still renew within 6 months I think. I would say wedns go to DMV and try to get it. It will definitely help you. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  12. They will provide all that. Don't go wasting your money, just make sure they put the correct size when they do uniforms. This is what you need when you report to zerega first day. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  13. Good luck today. Call everything out, remember once you make it you don't call out anything anymore. See a pigeon in the road, call it out "HAZARD, ANIMAL ON ROAD, APPROACHING WITH CAUTION".LOL. I know it seems silly some of the things you can call out but Remember you are trying to show them you can see everything. At zerega make sure you call out the draw bridge, It's to the ridght as you exit zerega and make another right to go towards highway.( Could be tricky to spot, since you gonna be a little nervous) Again good luck, remember today call everything and make believe you are boxing on the seat. Move your whole body, forward, back, left, right looking at mirrors and over your shoulder as you are pulling out from stops. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  14. Going in with just a permit is not so bad. After you qualify day 7-10, the ones that have to take a road test, like I did, spent a few days training but superintendent were more relaxed and they just gave you more training time. I took the road test by zerega and it was a breeze, as long as you have pre-trip memorized. Best of luck to everyone. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  15. Wow, hope its better for the people that had a long commute to Manhattan or Bronx from Brooklyn. Was your class all TA? Anyone was at Manhattanville? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  16. Good luck for whatever it is you guys are doing there. Keep us posted. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  17. Assuming today is Day 6 for current training class. Saw them on 106th Street yesterday training. Today saw Supt. Beard with his class heading to Union Square. Who ever has him, listen to everything he teaches, use it on a daily basis specially the look up when checking bus at battery compartment for damages. Good luck today. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk Agreed. They just don't want you to lie and they find out later after they invested their time. Then they get you for not disclosing it. 18. 9/19 Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk
  19. Congrats to everyone who made it. Bets of luck. Going on 8 months now, so far so good even clearing early, it gets better so don't get discouraged the first few weeks on extra list. Take your time, and remember make your own opinion of lines and people. How many people made it from the class so far? Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk
  20. Congrats. Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk
  21. It's alot easier. You do east harlem, over to the west side and back to east side Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk
  22. Never pass your reference point. When in doubt if you need to make the turn, change it to a hook turn. I've done that now while driving out on my own. Good luck, sometimes it's better to have a little more driving. Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk
  23. It's ok just make sure you are more careful. Call all out. If I may ask what happened? Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk
  24. Good luck Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk
  25. The list number is established from the test results. So example would be my list # is 82x. In my class there was people with list number 7xx. They have more seriority than me, so they get to pick before me for the rest of my time at MTA. Now there was a new class after, I get to pick before them. If you come off from medical, you get put back into place with your list number. Sent from my SM-N910T3 using Tapatalk
