  1. They started looking into it when the Lackawanna tracks were changed to allow that NJ Transit division access to Penn Station. So much trackage was ripped up and replaced that area in the Harrison- Secuscus yards don't look anything as it did 20 years ago. Right now only a very small portion of the system engages with regular rail at this time and when they remove and replace that the system can use atc fully.
  2. It has to do with cost analysis and available funds. Remember the funds are dependent on the economy and all of this is being done with surplus money so to speak. Its like the latest derailment in Queens where money had to be found and 500 feet of track replaced and damaged cars. This probably set back all new work by 2 months. So to have a fixed date is nice but all of this is tentative. Its like the 7 line station at 34/11th ave which was to open in 2013 but the elevators designed by the Italians don't work for the handicapped so this is being pushed off into the future.
  3. That's the wildest thing I have seen in a good bit of time.
  4. We will all be dead and buried before this project is finished. At costs of 2.1 billion a mile and rising it isn't going to happen.
  5. It didn't work that well in locomotives or Fairbanks would of been a major player after WW2. In stationary design it can't be beat but variable throttle they don't hold up.
  6. I'm happy you enjoyed my humor. As a busrider for a number of years I know what's it like with a crap road and be in that seat
  7. Unique place to lose it for sure. I guess the normal bouncing in the last seat was due to more than weak springs.
