Are the countdown clocks being installed in Brooklyn the true "countdown clocks" (A Division), the bluetooth ones or just tell the time? Not sure, and they're popping up everywhere.

What's the deal with 4th Ave express lately?
I take the to Atlantic during AM rush and around 9th Ave the trains either get extremely slow or just stop completely for 5-7 mins. I've been considering just taking the from 36th because it's faster.

What if Trump wants to make America great again? He’d start by reallocating money to infrastructure. Here’s hoping for the IND Second System… With his unpredictable nature, it could happen.
...except he hardly mentioned anything about transportation, except in one speech where he talked about modernizing our airports and "reforming" the FAA & TSA

The 60th St , 63rd , and 53rd St. tunnels are all closed due to a NYPD investigation about a possible bombing. The tunnels will be closed over the weekend, provide alternate service.
In addition a loss of power has disabled the use of switches at the 63rd St - Lexington station and due to repairs trains are not able to pass through the station.
Ensure the that all customers are swiftly (or not so swiftly) transported to their destinations.

Can anyone explain to me how trains are turning at Canal Street from Brooklyn going back to Brooklyn?
There are switches south of the Canal St platform allowing for this type of turning. It's pretty ineffective but in such a situation this could be a vital link to other Manhattan lines.

Track fire at West 4 Street–Washington Square due to some crazy homeless woman throwing burning gasoline-soaked garbage into the tunnels right where the switches are. Visibility is a problem in the tunnels and station on both levels and so West 4 Street–Washington Square is out of commission. A newly radicalized terrorist happened to have seen it and decided to copy the woman’s example. He dragged a waste bin from the streets above, set the contents on fire and tossed the contents onto the tracks at 8 Street–NYU, a nearby station. Fire and smoke took over the southern end of the southbound platform and tracks. Out of an abundance of caution, the entire station had been put out of service with no trains going through it. Personnel is being dispatched to take care of the problems and assess the damages.

I have a crazy idea. What if the WTC Path lines were extended to the East Side and up on 2nd Avenue?
This way the Port Authority could co-fund the project. PATH train cars are only about 0.1 meters less wide than a typical R160. That is about a 1/3 of a foot wider than a PA-5. The systems would finally unify and use the MTA's new card for the systems.
I think this is one of the best ways to tackle the bus-commuter problem. A bus terminal could be built at the Harrison PATH station (there is a huge vacant lot next to the tracks), and commuters would be able to connect to all the trains they need downtown. The East Side would also receive direct access to many areas of New Jersey.
obligatory again this is totally not feasible blah blah blah
but the SAS project could recieve a ton more money if this were the case.
edit: also the would be completely replaced by the PATH. Only the would travel with PATH trains to 125th St.

This proposal has already been made.

So where would they test these cars? Sea Beach?
They can't test at Sea Beach. trains using the express tracks cause of construction.

That's crazy. It's the end of another era for the line fleet.

Due to recent hate crime against transit yards (whatever) both the Pitkin and 207th Yards have been burnt down, along with most of the rolling stock inside.
How do you route trains to cover and service? The is not affected.
