  1. They should have made the Lex/63 & Lex/59 transfer an in system transfer when they had the chance.
  2. Yeah I noticed that too. The SBS seems lighter than the local. But maybe that's because the local comes first so people get on that. At least that's what I've noticed. But overall I am content with the Bx6.
  3. I don't know if this has been mentioned but bus 721 has already been wrapped in SBS paint scheme.
  4. No date has been released yet. But there are SBS fare machines installed already along 163rd and they are creating the bus island stop at Sheridan Avenue.
  5. Honestly I can't for the Bx6 to get SBS. That courthouse traffic is horrible in the mornings. Today it took 13 minutes to get from Yankee Stadium to Sheridan Avenue (1 stop away mind you). It usually happens but since they are making the eastbound tunnel bus only, maybe it will speed up travel time in the mornings.
  6. Also the Broadway Line is messed up Service Change Posted: 04/11/2017 8:06PM Due to switch problems at 34 St-Herald Sq, the following service changes are in effect: Southbound trains are running local from 57 St-7 Av to Canal St. Some southbound trains are running on the line from 36 St (Qns) to W 4 St-Washington Sq then running on the line to DeKalb Av. Expect delays to southbound , , and train service. Allow additional travel time. What are the odds that a switch malfunction would happen at the same station on two different levels.
  7. I saw 683 on the Bx6 yesterday. First time I saw an XN40 in person. It looks good.
  8. So yesterday while at the WTC station on the , there were 5 train cars in a row that had homeless people in them. It seems like every time I'm on the there are homeless people in them. The has to be the skid row of the subway system.
  9. So are the short announcements on the making a comeback? Because I took the today with the experiment announcements.
  10. Glad to know that I am not the only impulsive commuter in the world. I have a habit to getting off trains or buses for a "quicker" commute, only to have Satan take over and make me regret choices I've made. I guess it's the Aries in me.
  11. Wow the MTA must be bored as hell. They love to fix things that aren't broken.
  12. I would just make the curves not as sharp. The 14th St southbound platform would be shifted so that it aligns with the northbound platform, eliminating that gap filler. The Spring St curve would not be that sharp and I would make Bowling Green look like the Whitehall Street station. My proposal would pretty much look like yours, except I would add stations at 79th, and St. Marks Place.
  13. I know this was posted already but I never knew that Stillwell Avenue was so busy enough to require a Select Bus stop on the Bx12. I passed through there on the 12 last week going to Bay Plaza and that stop had no passengers getting off and on.
  14. Even if I am early, the trains and buses here in NYC will somehow try to make me late.

    1. Via Garibaldi 8

      Via Garibaldi 8

      lol... Welcome to the (MTA)...

  15. Is it me or did they change the propulsion. It sounds a lot different than it did before.
  16. The Broadway Line is so much better now that the came back.
  17. The uses a few R32s. But the are based out of different yards, while the and are in the same yards. I guess their depots and the fact that the operates longer hours compare to the could be a reason why the are considered separate.
  18. Yeah they are trying but it sounds like a propulsion you would hear in other metro systems. At least the other NTT propulsions that we have sounds unique.
  19. Quick Question, Idk if it was asked. Now since we've heard the R179 propulsion. Where do you guys rank them with the current NTT propulsions? Mines would be: 1. R142a/R143/R188 2. R160 Siemens 3. R142/R160 Alsom 4. R179 (I don't really like it tbh)
  20. Nothing makes me more nervous than someone standing over me with coffee in their hands. One jolt and I will smell like starbucks.

  21. The MTA loves to fix things that aren't broken instead of fixing things that are broken.
  22. I think the Livonia-Junius transfer will be used. If anything I can see the transfer being used by riders coming from Canarsie. Instead of transferring at Broadway Junction, unless they really need the or , riders have another option to get to Manhattan or Downtown Brooklyn. Also what if the rider needs to go somewhere that is served by the in Manhattan/Bronx, a transfer at Livonia Av makes it much easier instead of walking up & down the stairs and dealing with the crowds at Broadway Junction.
