  1. No... I didn't 7561-7934-7570 still haven't hit service to my knowledge, they were sitting in the yard today out of service. 7571-7935-7580 is in testing formation at Corona.
  2. This isn't a movie for one thing, and in Pelham 123 it was the other way around where they converted a 62A to a 142A. There is no reason to convert a 142A into a 62/A... True I only saw the diamond LED part. I couldn't tell if the whole sign had been changed or if it was just that part. They seem to be testing it, so we'll see if the whole sign is changed or if they just put the diamond LED fixture over the number sign.
  3. Sorry I didn't focus on the side display because I didn't see it at first but if you pause at the very beginning of the video, you can see it. That's crazy because I saw 2066-70 and 2076-2080 in service yesterday. Those singles (1901, 1902 and 1926) are now with 2071-2075. 2081-2085 and 2091-2095 are still on the , at least for now.
  4. I can confirm the side diamond LED signs on one of the R188's. 7506-7510 have them installed. The set is alone in a 6 car set testing in the yard. It was pulling into the shop when I saw it. Got a quick video which will be uploaded soon. Couldn't see if it was activated but the regular signage was blank. I don't think this makes much sense considering how the trains already say "Flushing Exp" on the interior and exterior and how the announcements also say whether it's a local or express. It's a very small sign, much smaller than the 62A's sign because of the hight of the 188 sign being shorter than a 62A rollsign. Because of the diamond, the LED text box in between the diamond is significantly reduced in size (the regular text of the 188 sign has been covered altogether).
  5. 7811-21 is usually in service. There is a video of it testing for CBTC and it is one of the sets with the orange sticker (in fact, the only factory set with the orange sticker). 7471-7480 and 7860-7870 seem to be the main testers with some sets being taken out of service occasionally for additional testing.
  6. 2066-2070, 2076-2085 and 2091-2095 are all on the as far as I know along with the singles. As for R188's, 7561-7934-7570 wasn't in service today and hasn't been in service to my knowledge. 7571-7935-7580 was not at Corona so maybe the set that's at Pitkin is 7571-7575? Also R188 7480 had a red flag in Corona today so they definitely are planning on keeping that set OOS, at least for now. I got what will probably be my last train RFW on 2081 today, at least Manhattan bound.
  7. Then I guess 7561-7934-7570 must be entering service today? And also if 7581-85 is already on the way to Pitkin, 7571-7935-7580 must already be at Corona. Unless there is some kind of delay.
  8. Corona depot on the LIRR is not a thing... if you meant Corona yard, that makes more sense, and as for LED's sides of the R188 destination signs, that would be completely redundant because they already display Flushing express. I'm not sure what they were doing with it. But seeing as how they were doing the same tests that they would normally do with 7860-70, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't just use 7860-70 unless they are planning to pull this particular set out of service as well, maybe just so they can have a converted set test too. Maybe it will be in service sooner than 7860-70 but 7471-7925-7480 was OOS today as well.
  9. 7471-7925-7480 seems to have been pulled out of service for CBTC testing now too. 7 trains were running express to Manhattan and 7480 was wrong railing on the Manhattan bound track and stopped at 111th street. The CBTC cabinet was open. 7860-7870 was in the yard. I wonder how long 7480 will remain OOS if they also have 7860-70 pulled out too. Or maybe 7860-70 will go into service, but I heard that set will go into service in 2017 so who knows.
  10. I'd think the two sets would have at least one 5 car set in it. At the very least, out of 2071-80, 2081-85 and 2091-95, two of the four 5 car sets should still be here. I doubt they'd run a train of all singles but I wasn't on the this weekend so I don't know.
  11. Yes, 7931 is in service. 7536 is with 7315 so I'm not sure where 7531-7535 is. Recently, they've been mismatching pairs when they enter service. 7525 and 7526 were also mismatched before and when they entered service as well.
  12. I believe that the propulsion used on the 142As, 143s and now 188's was manufactured by ADtranz. The propulsion was discontinued but Bombardier brought it back for the R188 order. The R179's will most likely have MITRAC, and will probably sound similar to the Toronto Rocket or maybe even the 2009 London Tube Stock (which I believe uses MITRAC as well, not sure).
  13. IIRC, 7881 and 7930 had the stickers before then. However, those are the only two. Yeah, the programs should be updated soon enough. Maybe they will put the old destinations onto the signs again. Of course, when 7926 was updated the last time, we thought they'd do that and they didn't.
  14. No, the announcements have not yet been updated.
  15. That car has been at Kawasaki for awhile now... 7586-90, the last converted set should be sent there soon if they are not there already. 7555 should be back on MTA property within the next month or two.
  16. R188's 7511-7929-7520 are in service. Presumably, 7521-7525 is back with 7526-7930-7530. Videos coming soon.
  17. 7866-70 and 7860-65 are paired with each other. 7855-59 and 7871-76 are in service. 7860-70 hasn't been in service since summer 2014. 7371-7915-7380 has CBTC installed but it is in service.
  18. Ok, so this has gotten weird. I saw 7511-7515 coupled with 7526-7930-7530 testing today. The order of the train was 7515-7511|7530-7930-7526. I saw 7521-7525 in the yard alone in a 5 car set. I did not see 7516-7929-7520 anywhere. Video:
  19. They have started to restore the old program, at least on one set (7481-7926-7490), here are some videos:
  20. 7881 is now with 7386, not 7486. 7882-87 is still MIA, anyone know what's happening with it?
  21. So apparently, they're adding orange stickers to the ends of R188's, similar to what they're doing with the R143's and R160's currently getting CBTC upgrades on the . I rode this set today and saw that 7375 had it's CBTC screen active, which is strange, because the only cars I have seen the screen active in are 7865 and 7866, the CBTC testing cars. I also saw that one of the console screens in the cab was all blue, through the cab door window. This is strange, because, at least to my knowledge, CBTC is not active on the line, and no other sets have been testing with CBTC besides 7860-7870. Here is the video I took:
  22. Yeah I saw two sets today, 2456 and 2401/1844. Not sure how many more there were other than these two but they were back to back (if you leave out the train in between them.)
  23. Caught a R62A from the on the today. Set 2401-05 and 1841-45.
  24. You mean 8408? And I have always been wondering that too. I think that it was the actual 8408 that was sent off to the Money Train film sets along with 8401 and one other. I could be wrong but this is based on what I read on nycsubway.org. R30 page: http://www.nycsubway.org/wiki/R-27_--_R-30_(St._Louis_Car,_1960-1961)
