  1. The drop out rate is ridiculous, people failing there praticals, signal exams ,mid terms etc..the training is very rough as I stated..I'm not going to BS anyone, I'll say it as it is..be prepared and get anything you need to get done now..every morning I wake up and ask myself if I really want to do this ,but I'm already in it so I'll see how things work out..the job itself is good don't get me wrong but I really think the training could be better and organized better..mta don't give a crap if you make it ..your given an induction book to read and if your lucky hands on training. .i say lucky because if there is no train available for your class to learn on its just another wasted day ..everything is thrown at you and you just have to find the time to study. .it's going by so quickly you'll be surprised. .the traveling is a lot as well so be prepared

  2. Definitely go to homedepot and pick up a husky tool bag ,I have the 18 inch but we carry books as well so I probably go with the 21 inch or so

It's hard to live out of state and travel,a lot of guys are living with family members who live in new york ..i recommend going to a uniform store or order online for a blue plain work mechanic shirt and dark blue dockers or red kap pants that the mechanic wears ..uniforms are a huge issue here because the people who does the measurements for your uniforms sucks ,so you end up sending them back to ups and it's a waiting game..so buy 2 or 3 of each shirt and pants..training gets dirty
