  1. I got a call, but no link to a survey. Any help? I have to respond by May 26.
  2. Sorry, didn't mean to get anyone's hopes up. My hopes certainly are not up. But I took both exams and mistakenly posted a question here. But I'm not sure where I misinformed anyone. I said that the list won't be established until OPA's are over with. Sounds like a good heads-up to me. I don't expect to be selected for C/R, but I do expect to get in with T/O. I'm a former transit worker who left with a bad record and I've taken enough exams since then to know I may not get back in with C/R, but I should get back in with T/O. Any information I might have could be useful, in my opinion. I'm sure as well that OPAs procedures won't change because of differences in titles... Sorry for bothering you guys...
  3. After some perusing of this forum, I get the impression that the list won't be established until the OPAs are complete. I'm hoping that the OPA is a pass or fail situation, as I would not want the OPA results to affect my position on the list...
  4. Sorry. Wrong thread. This is for C/R. But the question still stands. And I have to pay another $25 to even take the assessment or I'm disqualified from the application process... By the way, I still don't know my list number for C/R exam #6601. I do know I passed and went down to protest three answers.
  5. I've been sent an appointment for an oral proficiency assessment for next week. What should I expect to happen on that visit?
  6. The question asked which train runs local late nights in Brooklyn. Even if the question asked which trains run local late night in all the boroughs they run in, the J and R would have also been correct.
  7. I got to the protest late and I was there maybe 15 minutes the most and there seemed to be more than 8 people in the room. 5/22 am question #47 deals with the two local trains operating local in Brooklyn during late nights. Based on the question, there are two correct answers. The J and R trains. Local in Brooklyn is the key.
  8. Transit says that the conductor should advise the lost and heavily accented passenger that he get on the train and take further instruction from there. I contended that the conductor can't assume the lost passenger actually wants the train on which the conductor is working on. I chose the answer that advises the passenger to look for the transit map on the platform. I don't know if I'll get that one.
  9. The key shows two trains that travel local in Brooklyn late nights. That one was easy and I expect to get that back.
  10. I doesn't even make logical sense to only adjust the grade of the protesters. The question will be thrown out for all testers. Now all I need is for someone to tell me when the protest session for the 5/22 am exam will take place so I can get 'our' scores adjusted.
  11. When is the protest session for the 5/22 am exam please? Seems like I'm running out of time.
  12. How do we find out when our respective protest sessions take place? I get the impression that there are different dates for protesting based on when you took the exam. No protest schedule was written on my answer key.
  13. So far, I'm looking to protest #6 and #47 from 5/22 am's exam. Need more help though. Meaning, not only should we have the same question wrong, we should have also picked the same incorrect answer. I do recall going back to look over question #6 after I had gone through the entire test. Wishing I had a photographic memory right now.
  14. 5/22 am exam 6. B - I chose D 47. B - I chose D 56. D - I chose B If I see a similar pattern, then I'll have something to protest.
  15. I thought I did extremely well and I got three wrong. Questions 6, 47, and 56 on the 5/22 am exam. Not a good look.
  16. If you really want to compare test scores, wait till the list comes out, as it will include test scores.
  17. Consider this: I took the track worker's test a couple of years ago. That test was much easier than this conductor exam by far. Close to 15,000 people took that exam and exactly 775 people, including I, scored 100 points or better. They started picking people off the list in January 2015 and thus far have hired up to list number 661. Considering that this test was much harder, I expect maybe half that number of perfect scores. My list number was 31*, but I wasn't hired because of my past work record with the MtA. Supposedly, they can only deny me 3 times before they have to hire me. Long story, but I'll keep taking transit exams until they actually do hire me.
  18. My goal was to score perfectly and to not leave the testing room until I was sure of this or they kicked me out. It's a good sign when I'm up to question 41, and someone raises their hand to alert the procter that they have completed the exam. It's also a good sign when the guy sitting next to me, that I could tell was frustrated with the questions and was generally 10 questions behind me, also manages to complete the test before me. The test was generally easy in the sense that the answers were generally right in front of you. But if you're not the type to pay attention to details, you may have gotten some answers wrong. My method was to eliminate the obviously wrong answers, analyze the other options, mark my answers on that protest sheet first while leaving a question mark next to the questions I wanted to review after going through all 80 questions, then after making certain that I had all the correct answers, fill out the bubbles on the scantron sheet. That took almost 2.5 hours. I am confident that anyone who left before me, likely scored worse than me.
  19. Finally got that letter I dreaded. I quote: "You were considered and not selected for appointment in accordance with Rule 4.7.1 , of the rules and regulations of the new York city personnel director." And that's a wrap folks. Good luck to the rest of you.
  20. Ok. Finally spoke to the man himself. He tells me that since I was a former employee, my application is taking longer than normal and he's just waiting for my paperwork to clear from my former division. That's all for now.
  21. At least a couple of the ladies from behind the counter remember me. I'm gonna play the empathy card now and hope they feel my pain.
  22. Well, my plan of just popping up has failed up to this point. I pretended that I got a phone call and evidently they have a list that I'm not on. I don't have anything better to do today so I'm gonna stay in the building until they kick me out or speak to me. The people on her list are way past my list number of 310-315. Something is up, and it's not dirty urine.
  23. The more I read, the more I think I'm getting the runaround. How is it that list #35+ is sworn in already, and I'm here in limbo at 31X? Last week, the guy tells me to expect something in the mail, and the next, he tells me things happen like that and to not be discouraged? I'm just gonna play dumb on Monday and act like they called me for in medical.
