  1. I'd take the at 42 St over the . The only skips 23 and Spring St in Manhattan, and 9 Fulton St Stations. The skips 10 stops on Queens Blvd. And is Fast on QBL. The is 13 stops from 42 St to JFK. The is 19 stops from 42 to JFK You could even argue a to the at 74 thanks to frequent service.
  2. The Gruman Flexibles are the Kwame Browns. Biggest bust we ever got.
  3. I want to know what your walk is. You mean to tell me that you walked from Astoria Blvd down to Steinway Street? On a very serious note. Why are so hell bent on not getting on the R46s.
  4. If you read my post, I didn't say the MTA was at fault. I also said in my post that he paid his $2.75, So he can wait all he wants. All I mentioned was that the reason he was passing up on trains was just immature. He has the right to stand and wait when its mad brick outside for a specific train. I also never said the swap was bad. An R46 will take you to the same places and R160 can. If you're rail fanning for R160s it one thing, but if you got to do normal everyday things and you have to be at a place at a certain time. I wouldn't pass up multiple trains just because of a car type. I'd be dammed if I got terminated by my job because of an R46.
  5. While it is his opinion to favor a certain car type is one thing. But to habitually let trains pass to specifically avoid a car type that will make up the majority of the train fleet is childish. He paid his $2.75, so he can wait all day if he wants. But the time wasted for something so insignificant is truly mind boggling. That's like calling an Uber and then canceling the ride because the driver showed up in a Honda instead of a BMW. That's basically what he's doing.
  6. From 59 Streets. What will get you to East 161 St first The or the
  7. I wonder who's going to fight for the Railfan Windows. This will be fun...
  8. What if the had to close several Stations that had received damage from the excessive force of recent protest. This has to do with these sections not recieving power to the 3rd Rail. To make these repairs, no trains are allowed to pass in either direction. The stations include. Hunts Point (cannot be used to terminate) 125 Street Nostrand Avenue 110 Street (Express Tracks also) 7th Avenue Crescent Street Morgan Avenue 145 Street Bergen Street
  9. This is my list of the best Trains to run on each subway line. These trains were the GOATS on their respective line. When you think of some trains, you automatically think of a certain car type. So in my Opinion, these are the Trains that stand out to me. R62A Redbirds R62 R62 Redbirds R142A R62A and R36 WF (R188 when all set and done) R38 and R44 R40S/R40M R32 R68 R32 R46 R46 / R40M/R42 R143 R42 R68/A R68/A R46 S Current assignments R46 R40S. The is a special line. All cars that come to the are deeply missed. And I hold the R36 WF and R62A on the same level because both were very iconic and legendary in their own right while they had their career on the . I do believe that the R188s will be on the same level of the SMEEs that ran on the when they retire. What do you all think? I would like to see what your All Time Subway Line and Car type combo.
  10. You've got to do the "Queens Blvd Wobble"😂. I will miss the R46s on the . The has used those trains since they were born. I think that the R46s will be most synonymous with the and . When you think of those 2 lines I think R46. Other lines have used them, but not have had the impact like the and .
  11. Hope You had breakfast. A string of random explosions have been affecting Orion 7 Old Gens (6500s and Gen 2 +). The MTA has to take them out of service inspect them all. This will drastically impact Queens and Brooklyn. For the sake of this scenario. You only have to focus on these 4 depots which have the highest amount of these buses. As of 2020. ENY 82 FR/JFK 157 LGA 107 BP 48 How would you help LGA, BP, JFK, and ENY. You must transfer buses and maybe cut routes temporarily to provide service as much as you can. You may have to borrow artics or even express buses, but from where? You may not take buses out of Eastchester Scrap. What routes will you consolidate or Put on hold? Which depots can run some of these routes? For Ex. CS operates the Q70 for LGA. Have fun.
  12. Bx12 Edson Av. Also BX12 to University Av Bx1 Fordham RD Q58 Junction Bl Bx13 University Av The Bronx has the best ones imo.
  13. What is the process for retiring trains? Do they perform a test on the pair? Or do they just have a list of car numbers and just remove them as needed? If a set of R32s breakdown, are they prioritized for scraping or do they fix it?
  14. R142A Cypress Av E 143 St Mary St Mott Haven Exp 138 St/Southern Bl LCL Longwood Av MRSN/SNDVIEW AVS
  15. R32 . 167 St Bronx Bensonhurst Bay Parkway. D Concourse/Av of Amer/West End
  16. What is the purpose of removing the builder plates? Its such a minor detail that I don't see a reason for them to take them off.
  17. I love the bus tracking apps that help to know where the bus is in real time. No more looking at a paper schedule guessing where the bus is. Real time is probably the best thing to happen this decade as far as buses go.
  18. Can a Skip Stop Train work? Just like the . In the Summer, I take the from Fordham Road to 125 to catch the . Normally it takes about 20 minutes to get from Fordham to 125. You could make both trains stop at important stops (Kingsbridge, Fordham, 161) and let the other stops alternate between trains. The could use the or some other unused designation for the skip stop idea. But I'm just throwing this up in the air, I usually take the to go to The Bronx anyway. But hey, its just an idea...
  19. From an unbiased perspective Queens Division Casey Stengel - One of the best Jamaica - Very good depot. Depot is just mad old. Queens Village - Very good depot College Point - Mad busy, cool routes, Good depot Far Rockaway/JFK - up and coming. Pretty good LaGuardia - Has a big service area, lots of routes. Up and coming Manhattan Division Mother Clara Hale - Nice new depot, Its good. Manhattanville - Got some of the slowest routes, Covers all of Manhattan, Good depot MJQ - Great depot. Just has the slowest routes. Tuskegee - Has long routes. Busy. Good depot. Brooklyn Division ENY - A little bit of everything. Good depot Flatbush - East NY part 2. Has some busy routes. One of the better Brooklyn depots. Good. Jackie Gleason - Been on point for a long time. Excellent Grand Av - Big New Depot, Lots of routes, its good. Ulmer Park - Low key. Good at what it does. Good Spring Creek - same as Ulmer Park. Good Fresh Pond - Weird. Its in the middle. OK Staten Island - lol🤣 The Bronx Division West Farms - The leader of the pack. Excellent Kingsbridge and Gun Hill - Damn Eastchester - Doesn't exist🤣 My Personal top 5 all time 1. LGA - Dope routes. Mad variety with its routes. Has always had the dopest oldest buses. Childhood depot. Has been looking good in recent days. 2. Kingsbridge - Love all of its routes. Better than Gun Hill. Frequency is mad high. Just wish the appearance was better. But I think its cool. 3. West Farms. Has a great diverse fleet. Has some cool routes. The cleanest buses in all of the Bronx. An example to the other Bronx depots. Always has the cooler buses in The Bronx. 4. Jackie Gleason. What can I say that hasn't been said. A+ 5. Manhattanvile. Manhattanville has a great diversity when it comes to its routes. They do a great job of serving all of Manhattan. Other than the southern tip of the island, Manhattanville takes you everywhere. You got routes like the M4 that go to the top of Manhattan and others that go all the way to the village M2. You got your East Village, Midtown, Harlem, Washington Heights, Riverbank Pk, Times Sq, 5th Av. The list goes on and on Also Manhattanville routes move slightly faster than MJQ.
  20. Furthermore, Articulated buses are practically the same thing, and we've had those since 1996.
  21. Yes. The W started service on July 2001. During that time, the and were mostly R32, R40 S, R40M/R42, and R68/As. And for the better part of the last 10 years, R68/A and R160. Thus, this is the 1st time that the will use the R46s.
  22. The R68s on the N aren't gonna no more love lol.
