  1. Sorry, I misread what you meant - I expect such programs will be created only when the R211S is delivered, and probably only for R211 trains. (I am very suspicious of the idea that any LIRR or MNRR programs would be available on NTTs, since they cannot legally carry passengers on railway track.)
  2. Sorry, no can do. This is stupid, this thread is for realistic short-turn service disruptions.
  3. I was asking for a picture of the new sign in order to see the changes. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  4. My impression has always been that the purpose of the skip stop service is to reduce the time for Jamaica to FiDi travel by enough that some ridership will shift from the (packed) QBL express.
  5. Please, no. This "original principle" was discovered NOT to be satisfactory, since a huge number of trips from local stations go to Manhattan. This is why there is no service to Court St (transit museum), why G trains were dropped in favor of M trains in Queens, and why the Franklin Avenue line was converted to a shuttle in the first place. There is very little demand between the Myrtle Avenue corridor and the Brighton line compared to the demand between either and Manhattan.
  6. The northbound, if I remember correctly. dj hammers has a video of it.
  7. Yes, they run around the old south ferry loops to wall street and change ends there.
  8. You misread - he means, during L shutdown, run additional Myrtle trains to 2nd and 96th. Not 2nd and Houston.
  9. You might imagine that, but there is no connection from the crosstown to bergen lower level.
  10. That still doesn't solve the physical constraints preventing a connection between Nassau and Second at any latitude. Myself and other posters are not making this up - go read the EIS where this idea was rightfully dismissed!
  11. Seems like a fine idea, but I'll play the devil's advocate. How many more people do you want to cram under Park Ave between 14th and 42nd streets If you want to build Utica, I think it makes more sense to split off Fulton - though that has capacity issues that might be difficult to solve before a potential SAS phase 4 tunnel from Water St to Schermerhorn St. Suppose this was built - I think it should be at least built to IND standards pending platform shaving (like the Pelham line) for potential future connection to Fulton Street, and with appropriate bellmouths. But building it to Eastern Parkway for now seems smart.
  12. And he explained why that's a terrible idea. The Nassau Street line won't see high ridership no matter what you put on it - because it's surrounded by other lines. By comparison, a Water Street subway would draw new riders. Please read the EIS, they got this one right. As has been covered before, repeatedly, it would also be difficult to connect the Nassau St line to the Second Avenue Subway. We live in a three dimensional world, and the relative heights of the two lines won't match up, to say nothing of the sharp curves that would be needed.
  13. He said... 2 and 3 would run to a new, full-size 145th station which replaces 148th. (I'm unsure if this would go over well with those who live near the west end of 148th.)
  14. No such options exist to be cancelled, the order is a fixed size with no options. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
  15. Weekend (and late night iirc) M will run to 96/2 during Canarsie tube shutdown. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the increased M service at peak and midday went to 96/2 to alleviate the 71st conga line.
  16. R68OnBroadway's H also might not run on any Manhattan trunk, it could terminate at Forest Hills. As previously covered, there is not enough track capacity to run another QBL service to any Manhattan trunk. If you could supplement QBL with additional local service, it wouldn't be the G. We've been through this, it doesn't make sense. Just run H on 6th Ave Manhattan to 2nd Ave F to terminate or some such. If you really want, you could make it a Culver Local service to Church and run some F trains express at peak, since you seem to be so interested in using every track in the system.
  17. What if we combine LGA Link N's proposal with the proposal to send more N to 2 Ave and increase W frequency? They no longer need to terminate at Whitehall. (This really belongs more in a different thread).
  18. B and D trains run up 2nd Ave and Q trains run via B in manhattan. A and D shuttles local from terminals to 145. A runs via E to Queens Plaza, local to Jamaica/179. Some F trains run express the whole way in Queens. C train cancelled, E replaces C in Brooklyn. (Some C sets run E trains.) W cancelled. N and R terminate at 57th. Shuttle from Queensboro Plaza to Astoria. Some 5 trains via 7th Avenue to increase west side service. if the F from 63rd to Queens is also out, some F via G running local in Queens all the way to 179th and A running express in Queens, with some F trains terminating at 63rd northbound. Did I forget anything?
  19. You mean like this? http://www.vanshnookenraggen.com/_index/2017/05/the-future-of-the-2nd-avenue-subway/
