  1. Exam #8302 is established and DCAS is calling mainly CDL holders. The DOE already called me for interview June 1, but think I will decline. The position is a driver in the food warehouse delivering food to schools in the 5 boroughs. They will probably have the driver load and unload trucks. f**k that!
  2. I believe MTA Bus Company is the Queens division and Springcreek(part time). NYCTA (TA) division is Bklyn and Staten Island. I don't think you can transfer from MTA Bus depot to a TA depot unless you actually take the NYCTA test.
  3. Hmmm, if I'm not mistaken I think we all get called on that same number. But, I could be wrong!
  4. Kinda makes you wonder why the driver license requirement, anyway? I don't think the previous T/O test had a license requirement at all. I wouldn't be surprised if T/O required a CDL license in the next few years! It doesn't make sense, but it seems they are making it harder and more frustrating.
  5. I don't know what time they open, but you should go when they do. Try to be there at 7am. It will cut down on some time. It also depends on how many pre-employments they have on Monday. In addition, you know paper work has to be flawless. Basically, early bird and tight paperwork is key!
  6. Seriously! I know you guys will disagree, but I would rather get a disqualified letter. At least I would where I stand with transit. I feel taking multiple urine tests and multiple pre-employment appointments will lead to so much frustration that most will give up on the whole process. There are only so many times you can call out sick from a job before they fire you. Not to mention you have to have 10 extra days off from work for the training. It is worth it in the end for the great salary and benefits, but you might end up losing your job, and family because of it.
  7. MTA really need to stop stringing people along. This gets me upset. There are some people who have jobs, family, etc that can't keep this up.
  8. Yeah, whoever is hired is very lucky. Everything is on standstill because of the L train.
  9. I think he works for MTA bus and he wants to switch to TA, which is NYCT buses. TA or NYCT buses is a civil service position which has better benefits and pay. MTA bus company is not civil service.
  10. True, that's the best way If you want confirmation. However, you can email them. I restored my name twice thru email and they send me letters that I was restored.
  11. Unfortunately no. They just send you a letter stating you are restored.
  12. If they don't get a chance to call you in for the medical you might end up going to pre-employment all over again. Very discouraging to say the least!
  13. It can take anywhere from 3-90 days. However, MTA has a reputation of longer than normal wait times. As a result, many have to take the urine more than once. If you guys passed the urine test, you should hear back soon. I think the next training class is April 1.
  14. NYCT is a civil service exam still given by DCAS, so I believe policies are governed under city laws. MTA bus company is governed by state laws. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. NYCT employees say that you have that "extra" layer of city protection and better pay and benefits because it is a civil service exam. However, MTA bus company is not.
  15. I apologize for saying this, but the MTA employment process is both exciting and frustrating. I feel they made a huge error in calling a number of us to start the employment process. Because of their misjudgement in the wake of the L train not being shut down, most of us are left to suffer. I could be wrong, but this frustrating process seems to be focused on the civil service exams #7612 and 7604. Two of my coworkers, who both applied for exam# 7300, had pre-employment and final processing in less than one week. The second coworker went to pre employment just last week and just received an email for medical tomorrow. If he passes the medical, his orientation will be on Monday, while the rest of us are taking a second or third urine from months ago!
  16. Do you think it's because of the L train not shutting down? Maybe they don't need as many people? MTA has figured out a way to do construction w/o the shutdown.
  17. Nope. My number is 11**, but I have to double check that when I get home.
