  1. Yes I did. Guess it doesn't matter.
  2. Thank you. I firmly believe that there should be an age limit also. This job entails a lot of responsibility. Think about it. You are in the driver's seat transporting up to 2500 people. At one-time airline pilots were forced to retire at 60 (now 65). I'm in decent shape, but not what I used to be. This job is not easy work. I feel honored to be considered for employment. That is all I wanted. My situation is this: I cannot be dedicated to the job as required. You must eat, breathe, and sleep transit, at least for the first year. My wife wants to travel, enjoy the summer, hit the beaches, etc.. So do I. I have the resources to do so. So will a lot of those on here that will be hopefully retired at my age with a decent pension. I see that many are really pumped up and enthusiastic. That is great and I am sure they will make great transit workers.
  3. I declined the job back in November, but they still want me to come on May 23. List #107x. The reason I declined is that I took the test just to see if I could possibly get employment at age 59 at the time (now 61). I am retired and leading a good life, so as I said in a previous post I want to see someone get this job because they need it, especially those who have young families or those whose living conditions will improve with decent pay and good benefits. For me, it is just a dream I had since I was a child. I have a huge model railroad layout consisting of subways and scratch built structures including elevated lines and stations. Also, I am in the process of building routes in openBVE. They are great substitutes for the real thing. There is probably someone far down the list that will get this job and be thankful for it. I am happy to give my possible employment to that person.
  4. Got my pre-employment letter to report 11/15. List number 107x. I will DECLINE the appointment as I took the test just to see if I could be offered a city job at age 61. I am retired and leading a good life, travel, etc. I always wanted to be a motorman, but earlier in life, not now. I will frame my letter in my train room. I have a nice subway layout in the basement and build my own openBVE routes so I can play motorman there in a game setting. There are those who really need this job, so me being passed over will give someone a shot at a decent job with benefits that may be needed for a young family.
  5. Anybody know how they determine a list number if candidates have the same score. I got a 93.333 and my list number is in the early 10xx, but some are in the 800s with the same score. Is it SS number, age, etc? Also called the employment center and was given NO time frame on when and if I will be called given my list number. The calling process is based on need.
  6. Hi, scored 93.3333, list number 10xx. Thought I did better. I am one of the oldest to take the test I think. Not sure if I will take the job if called. I have been retired from my profession for nearly 10 years. Maybe I'll frame my call letter. I know of some retired guys taking the job as a hobby because it was their dream job as a child. They stay until 62 or 65 (3 to 5 years) then call it quits. It was my dream job as a child, but I should have taken the test in 2009. Anyway, I heard the training was tough with a lot of people who could not make the cut after being called.
  7. Thanks, away on vacation. Will get to it when I get back.
