  1. The reason for the lateness of the n20 isbecause of traffic in queens especially in the narrow Sanford avenues. ..imagine this a double parked car in Sanford ave can really hold up traffic at a extreme level. ..then again when i was waiting for a 120pm n20 bus in flushing it made it at 1:42pm and at touch stared its scheduled run to Hicksville. ..25 minutes behind scheduled and arrived Hicksville at 3:40pm almost one hour behind scheduled
  2. The n16 was created to enable and enhance passenger connections. To destined areas To my point of view 2% would ride the full route on the n16...then again the n15 is also the same as only 5% would ride the full route Also the n16 acts more as of a alternative route for the n15 between Roosevelt field and Rockville centre
  3. It works fairly well on those routes since they seldom get pack up with no seating I exclude the 3D since that route is heavy for a feeder route and runs a long distance
  4. Ohhh sorry i get confused mastic beach and mastic being synonymous Might be the reason like you mentioned only 2-3 stops are eliminated as neighbourhood road is moreof a major roadway for the s66 to pass through Im gonna miss that U turn the riverhead bound s66 buses made. XD
  5. Hey when will CDTA have a bus route towards Kingston. ..i won't mind if the fare is double the local bus fare No way im paying 14 dollars on the trailways NY that's too much If this dream is possible one can reach Albany from NYC for just $16 bucks a bargain P.s : is $14 from Kingston to Albany not counting the subway/beeline ; Leprechaun lines to Poughkeepsie ; UCAT to Kingston which arriving Kingston would sum up to $13
  6. The s76 also is to be using the para transit type vehicles. ..last October i saw a flyer promoting the use of those type of vehicles for that specific route. ..in that same route i saw that attention towards the modification of the s66 in the mastic area
  7. Suffolktransit said in twitter that the s66 was to not enter through palmetto road and commack road but access directly neighbourhood road to fasten up the route. ..idk why the decision was made but it might be becauseof llack of ridership in that area and to hurry up the s66 The n35 is a through route i forgot about that route. ..the n6 acts as a through route rush hours only when it goes to NCC N40/41 is a through route? ??
  8. I forgot all about the n15/16 and the n40/41 The n15 and n16 are very similar in that their routes are segmentated that is n15 Roosevelt field mall-Hempstead. ..Hempstead- Rockville centre and Rockville centre- Long beach. ..the n16 between Roosevelt field- Hempstead. And Hempstead- lynbrook Also these two routes are the ONLY routes to run to Hempstead and not terminate there
  9. The routes eliminated is because nowadays many people especially in the suburbs have cars and depend so far less on public transportation. ..NICE and SCT is different to the MTA in which there aren't many busy bus routes than can save low ridership bus lines from dying ...in NICE the busiest route is the n6 and during a day long runthe busiest are the mmentioned n6, n4, n20, n22, n24, n32, n72 The n19 isn't that much of a busy route but moderate The video that i saw recap me inseeing like example the detour the n73 makes in Levittown. ..thatdetour was made to ease users living in that area which in that time were middle class with not so much car users. ..the detour reminded me of the s66 bus detour in mastic which was eliminated on November2015 ppossibly because of low ridership as one can walk to neighbourhood road All is to wait and see if some of these routes can resuscitate in a near future but again it might still be dead like thr case of the n3 or even the w12 which ran to Jefferson valley mall and was truncated3 yyears ago to armonk ...three years have pass and it still terminates in armonk ...i mean have it at least extended to mount kisco to connect to the w19
  10. Possible conspiracy and corruption. ..good thing he mentioned a girl on 1648 but not thr exact date and time that bus departed ...that mangano is capable of sending spies to keep mouthshut. ..i never stop looking at that map of 1975 and many buses that will be cut next month we're running at ease and with no problem
  11. And back then the n19 went all the way to Babylon. ..rip n19 to Babylon. (1973- 17 January 2016) Also the n20 never existed so the today's LIU NYIT and Suny Westbury was without bus service. ..I'm surprised that oyster bay always. Wanted to be marginalized from public transportation. ..reminds me a lot of the northeast portion of Westchester county. ..all areas east of katonah and nonorth of mentioned town is left with no bee line bus service. ...the BL 33 can be reborn and advance to mahopac village centre and thus transfer to the BL 16 and have access to peeskill from croton falls and vice versa or at must extend the BL 33 to goldens bridge The n5 was the syster route to the n4 and the n3 the sister routr to n6
  12. It ispossible that the n31 was created circa 1990s to ease the passenger congestion. ..then again the n31 is continuous with the n32 except for a brief segment in cedar hurst where the twin buses seperate. ..normally the n31 ease up users heading to the northern sections of cedar hurst and on weekdays The Hempstead extension might came up as well when the n31 was created to accommodate users heading from the rockaways to Hempstead or it might be that the n32 is a consolidated route as lynbrook is the midway point for the n32 and the famous 5 corners is a popular transfer point
  13. It isnormal for the n15 to dispatch after the n33 arrives the RR station and vice versa...i some time ago took the n15 bus at Roosevelt field mall to long beach. ..the bus was to arrive at 7:25pm and i was scared that the n15 wasnt going to make the connection to the 7:30 n33 bus (and thus the transfer) ...but it made the connection
  14. Is sad that the n2/8 are being eliminated to see that this bus line passes through a more car less elmont town and passes through the NYC line and go to green acres Some people just don't know how to appreciate buses thats the reason why some of the lines are dying of being truncated
  15. So the s58 congestion is quite similar to the s92 congestion in the hamptons as NYS 27 is the only route out of the hamptons and especially the over congested nys 114 in Sag Harbour is a killer I think this mini thread started because of the wondering of the s92 andhow it makes a dehead from a point sooo far away hehe but yea sorry i was to put a new thread of s92 garage but hey not accustomed to forums very well.
  16. I don't blame the s58 access to selden as a waste of time on the contrary it is quickly. ..the waste of time is in the smithtown coram and especially Smith haven mall. ..then again the length of the s58 is very long is like riding the MTA. S78 round trip. ..that route is almost like riding Suffolk county pole to pole. ..i just dont like that two hour gap in the midday I would guess that SCCC riverhead favors for people of the east end then again one can come as far as east Hampton sag Harbour to riverhead and transfer to the s58 (unless you arrive during the two hour gap then is a new fare) To must riverhead is a very popular bus stop as it is a mayor linking point to must the most important bus transfer since it links theeast end to the west...yeah Smith haven mall coram patchogue Hauppauge bay shore and Walt Whitman mall are mayor transfer point . But riverhead holds to me as very important. ..but the poor coordination can result to one be stranded. ..luckily there's the nearby RR station Take it from me riverhead county ctr is pretty in the daytime but at night is like a ghost town and very scary to be at.,.after the last s92 leaves riverhead to the hamptons is all solid bricks ...anything can occur and no one's there to help. Yeepers
  17. Ohhhh i get it now I've been in the s66 that enter SCCC but after 445pm and virtually all s66 heading to riverhead enter the campus I nevernoticed the university to be small i saw it kinda big..then again only two routes enter this campus the hourly s66 and bihourly s8A Speaking of selden if im not wrong the s58 access that campus
  18. Im with MTA Orion bus with the announcement tapes So much better The good ol times. ..when NICE was really nice and under contract with the power house MTA and branded long island bus
  19. I in the contrary did. See a couple of passengers heading to sccc riverhea. ..even i saw the same girl who bboarded in the morning s66 at the evening run Lets notforget that the s66 entry to sccc isveryiimportant. Since it is a strandedbus stop far away rfrom the nearest bus stop (Riverhead county ctr) Then again I'mttalkin . Of the s66 runs when The 8A are not running
  20. Well the diferencie is in thr last run the s66 does enter the campus. ..then again it is the last run so it is very important that it enters and pick up the last passengers before you get stranded And yeah i would ssay that many s92 buses terminate in greenport eben if the destination sign says ORIENT POINT I guess that many bus drivers prefer to take a rest in greenport plaza since there is establishments for eating and restrooms as well as a supermarket while in orient point there's only a eating establishments and the ferry dockoffice as wwell as the ferry itself. ..so a B/O would feel in like a desert if it rests in orient point I last may went to Orient point and boarded the 11:55am s92 bus at riverhead (the only point where east end long islanders can access the western part of Suffolk and hence nassau and NYC) and it arrived greenport at 12:45pm and all passengers minus myself deboarded at the plaza. ..i had to say Orient for he to advance to the point It arrived at 12:55pm and man it took a long rest of 45 minutes since it ignite its engine at 1:40pm and left bounded to east Hampton I waited at the seating of the only eatery establishments in the point for the 2:10pm bus...i was scared at first since i got paranoid after the last s92 tended to rest in greenport when it was supposed to terminate in orient At last at 2:13pm the s92 arrived and i said thank the lord since it was the only escaping route I think if you don't say Orient at greenport the s92 bus will rest there and start engine 15 minutes anticipation to reach orient point at the time specified, ..i would say that any passengers heading to Orient from greenport east Marion and orient itself must just wait for the s92 being the scheduled run or a bus that is heading to the terminal to dispatched at that time I remember being myself and a lady who boarded at Orient heading to riverhead
  21. Oh thank you for the headsup ive aalways wanted to find that out No wonder in the schedule . Many s92 buses leave first runs from greenport and the last runs from East Hampton end at greenport To much drivers greenport is considered a last stop eve. For those runs to Orient poin. ..one much tell the driver . Orient for he/she to extend the routr to orient pt
  22. Wow interesting well some bus orders can be at this sequence with the lighting ..lets not forget the transmission is a killer I must say the MTA buses are to my opinion the ONLY bus company that there buses dont announce the famous. "Stop Requested" saying...the only thing close is the. "Please exit through rear door"
