Anyone know who I can contact about not being invited to start the process?

Same. However, I took my HVAC test last week. There were only about 20 of us. The proctors said you either get a pass or a fail. If you pass, you get an email from Sterling, I guess for background stuff. After, you get an interview and then a PAT physical or something like that. They stated the whole process could take up to a year, but they didn’t mention any hiring freezes, nor did anyone ask.

Thank god I found this thread. Last night I received an invitation to come in and take a test for HVAC Technician with MNRR. Why did they invite me during a hiring freeze? The test is on the 25th of January. Does anyone know what I can expect from this test and the competitiveness level? It doesn't seem like many people are taking it, compared to other exams like Conductor 6601 (which I'm also under). Any information helps, guys! Thanks.

When I asked about hilding my list number until I move back to NY. “The Employment Center calls applicants for processing as vacancies occur based on their list number. Once they reach your list number, you will receive a letter in the mail with a date and time to report to the Employment Center. The list number is good for 4 years from the date it started. List established 2/14/2018 Date exhausted 2/14/2022. If you are called to the Employment Center for the pre-employment process, and you miss your appointment, you will have to have your name restored to the list. Please keep in mind, you can only have your names restored if the list is active. Once it is exhausted, it is no longer used for hiring.”

I’m really discouraged at the moment seeing how fast this is moving in relation to my situation. I’m still stuck in Florida until November when I graduate HVAC school. I’m #16xx and never received an OPA invite and even if I did, I wouldn’t be able to fly back to NY yet. My plan was to move back to NY by the time they reached 16xx but it seems they already passed me.

From the looks of it, they spread pieces of paper with our names on them on the floor, then they have a midget covered in honey roll over those pieces of paper, then they have another blindfolded midget take the names off of the other midget’s body and that’s how they get our names. I’m 16xx...no OPA invite.

Ok, with that, it’s safe to say that transit has a pretty shitty system when it comes to processing exams. Really unorganized to say the least.

Shit, I wish I was in a fortunate enough circumstance to defer a job like this one. I would give my left nut to be in these guys’ positions. I live check to check and I’m #16xx.

Definitely. I emailed them on Thursday. Hopefully, I’ll receive a response from them this week. I’m planning on moving back to NY by November of this year when I’m done with HVAC school. They’ll probably reach my number by then.

I’m thinking of forgetting about this job. It’s a shame. I moved to Florida about a year after taking 6601. I’m list number 16xx. I was told to update my address with the exams unit and I did that right when I moved to Florida. I also have a forward active with the USPS. However, I never received the OPA invite but I did receive my NOR last month to my Florida address. I was always planning on moving back to NY; this is just temporary. Been here a year and four months so far. I’m ready to take a quick trip to NY and do all the OPA stuff but I still haven’t received anything; just NOR.

Exactly. Everybody and their mother is on outstanding certification. My 91 year-old grandmother called; she's on outstanding certification.

Pretty much like the sanitation exam a few years back where 3,000 other people got the same score I did. Their is no fairness with these things.

That’s what’s weird to me. I hear everyone talking about it but the notice of results is the only thing I’ve received from them.

I just received my notice of results in the mail. I scored a 96.250 and listed in the low 1600s. What does this mean? I’ve been out of the loop for a while. Didn’t think they would ever release the scores. However, I’ve been ready to start the process since I took the damn test. Will they start calling from 6601 now?

"NYC Transit Conductor, Exam No. 6601 (Updated as of 08/18/16)" Went on the MTA site today after forgetting this for a while. It hasn't even been updated for almost a year now....not even UPDATED with at least something? Jesus. I'm not even living in NYC anymore. Had to move to Florida due to the increasing effects of gentrification where I lived in Brooklyn. I am now studying HVAC & Refrigeration, along with some PLC systems at a technical school here in FL. I don't even know if it'll be worth it to move back to NYC if transit comes calling all of a sudden. Any advice?
