  1. IMO, I am starting to wonder what is the point of the weekend and scheduled to come every 6 minutes on paper when constant GOs forces them to run every 8 minutes in reality.
  2. Ngl, I honestly didn’t thought nothing of this being related to that C/R getting assaulted earlier this morning until @RTOMan and @Lawrence St thankfully brought it up. Damn, I feel foolish…
  3. Yeah it happened at Rockaway Avenue on the (this was during its overnight schedule).
  4. Thank you so much, RTOMan. And yes, I heard about that incident earlier this morning. It seems so far as of now, every heading southbound is going to Lefferts instead of Far Rockaway.
  5. Part Suspended trains are severely disrupted in both directions. Avoid these lines and take or local buses instead. What's Happening? We're running as much service as we can with the train crews we have available. Posted: 02/29/2024 09:25 AM
  6. I’m so happy that almost all of the R68s and R68As have gotten the LED lights. Now, I hope the leftover R62As on the and would get them. I also hope all of the R62s on the get them as well. I know it’ll all take a while. I still kinda wish LED in general was a thing from jump though. LED is just so much better.
  7. I’m only agreeing about the and it has nothing to do with ridership. It’s only to prevent a three way swap if the R160s from Jamaica were to leave (this is also the real reason why the R62As from the went to the instead of the ). Everything else I’m not going to agree with but that’s for another thread.
  8. Neither the nor the need R211s either… 🙄
  9. Forget him. He’s always saying stuff without thinking critically and logically. Anyways, I agree that the weekend should run to Forest Hills, not 145th. But then you also got other individuals proposing to have the run to Forest Hills on weekends, and it’s a whole bunch of back and fourth if one side does not see eye to eye with the other. But hey.
  10. Central Park is closed overnights and almost everyone on the are heading to/from the Bronx anyways. The overnights has to run local on Broadway above Canal St just in case anyone who is coming home from work or vice-versa need Brighton or 2 Av service. The overnights will likely revert back to running express on Queens Blvd when all the CBTC project on said line is over and done with at long last.
  11. Thank you guys for the clearing up why the roles of southbound s and s in Manhattan are completely reversed.
  12. The service alerts are also saying that southbound s are express from TSQ to Chambers, while southbound s are local in that same stretch. I’m guessing it’s to give the downtown local customers a direct one-seat ride to Brooklyn?
  13. R46s are still running on the . Just now saw one leaving Broad Channel southbound and another at the relay while on the heading northbound. I also saw an R179 on the earlier while on the to Far Rockaway. Sorry if this was already brought up btw.
  14. So? The is basically a short-turn making local stops while the full regular one runs express. If you rode the at night, then basically you rode the . Like the above poster said, both routes run alongside together or on the same tracks together in both Manhattan and Brooklyn. There isn’t anything wrong with treating them like a combined entity.
  15. Brain fart on my part. I mistakenly ignored the . I should have said mainline IRT A Division instead but hey.
  16. Yes. 239th Street Yard and Westchester Yard are the only two facilities in the entire IRT A Division that has a car wash. Grand Concourse Yard despite not being part of the IRT stores some trains but are not washed or housed there.
  17. Ah, that makes sense. Thanks. And yeah, more often than not, there were delays as those limited s that originally dropped out at 86 St affected through Coney Island-bound s, which already deal with delays just right outside the Coney Island terminal, waiting for one of the two s to leave first anyways.
  18. Looks like those limited trains in the AM Rush go to Coney Island instead of 86 St now.
  19. **11 a.m. Sorry for the brain fart, lol. Understood.
  20. The runs on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Manhattan-bound in the morning until 1 p.m. and Pelham Bay Park-bound the rest of the day till 9 p.m. From 9 a.m. to 11 p.m., select northbound trains run express from Hunts Point Av to Parkchester and all southbound trains run local along that stretch. This is to allow some northbound trains to be taken out of service at Parkchester and running empty to the yard afterwards. The requires less trains after rush hour is over. That’s why. Sometimes during middays, they will do GOs which requires suspension of express service till rush hour returns.
  21. They always run R68/As on the instead of being on the . 🙄
  22. You grew up on the and lines, right? I read a lot of your posts before and now. I can tell you seem to be the most passionate since both lines finally got new cars in recent years. I think the R46s will be gone from Pitkin sometime next year by either Spring or Summer.
  23. It is because they are doing work at the relay (where the uses to switch from southbound to northbound). The relay is also the only way to access Pitkin Avenue Yard from both sets of local and express tracks via Euclid Avenue station.
