  1. It could have been Rail-lifted to a nearby yard.
  2. GTFS can't be appreciated or parsed in this form. Copy and paste into Notepad++ and screenshot it for better reading. That probably doesn't work because it's an older specification.
  3. Google Transit Feed Specification. Not a link, but a protocol that can be used to display real or static time that's open sourced so any developer can incorporate it into their app. NYCT's feed is Quad-tier (static, real time, service alert, variable) which is the most detail. The Bee Line GTFS, by comparison, is only single tier (static), and NICE is tri-tier (real, static, and variable).
  4. I created some Queens bus vectors if any mods wish to import them. I based the colors off a PDF reference of the Queens bus map. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlW-ZYlueHvEhcggr1llT-Z1xzrzhA @Cait Sith @Harry
  5. Not sure why we're hung on that technicality. This isn't about communication. This is about tardiness (no-show). I previously stated that I witnessed a B82 with pax** pass the 7-eleven I exited on East 105th & Flatlands. Upon combing my mind, that was false. The bus I waited on was not a Nova***, which is what passed me. It was far newer. I stated earlier that this did not occur where the bus terminates. The nearest "dispatch" was the Rockaway Parkway station. I'm not sure if they deal with buses. **pax = passengers ***= the oldest ones in the system which have the lift in the rear. It is literally a museum piece. The one I was on was likely an older version built by New Flyer but without the Excelsior wrap.
  6. @BreeddekalbL brought up an interesting talking point about how transfers are handled between local buses and their SBS counterparts (namely the ). The buses are technically separate and you can actually transfer between them as they're not the same route.
  7. That sounds awful. The last time I witnessed a bus catch fire was while I was checking my mail at the East Yonkers PO. Fire trucks, ambulances, AAR, backlogged 7's, charred rear, the whole scenario. Funny fact: The bus number was 511.
  8. Because the one that was supposed to leave specifically said so. Verbatim. "I'm supposed to have been relieved. He asked for a ten minute head start and here we are. I can't go home, and neither can they."
  9. Nope. This was a purely tardy moment centered around a no-show bus operator. Glenwood Road had a few snags but nothing else was preventing us from leaving. I can accept late buses for any other reason, but the driver that was supposed to be relieved was suffering too. I boarded at Midwood so I can't account for that.
  10. Yesterday night, a bus operator showed up very late to relieve his fellow operator. The bus was stalled for a half hour. I boarded a and walked the rest of the way to my stop. It took another 15 minutes for the operator to catch up with me. As I left the 7-eleven at East 105th and Flatlands, he finally passed me. I think there should be consequences for this kind of bs. Not fair to riders, DEFINITELY not fair to colleagues.
  11. The link I posted is import-only. You can view it, but you need to be logged in to Gmail.
  12. I'll add these to my calendar, thanks. Notifications show 30 min before change and can be adjusted.
  13. my calendar seems to have holes because of this. And unfortunately there's more. I didn't include the line closure. the calendar description is formatted so if you view it in Outlook, it has the formatting marks and embedded URLs.
  14. I decided to add a calendar that covers service changes.

  15. Hey guys! Instead of PDF files, which are quite tedious, I've decided to create a Google Calendar share that incorporates the changes. I adjust the time to accommodate the weirdest schedules. Check it out and add it to your calendar as an internet or secondary: https://calendar.google.com/calendar?cid=b3VoNzZ2Y2E3cjB2NmEza3M1dG52ZGFwazRAZ3JvdXAuY2FsZW5kYXIuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbQ
  16. Updated profile pic and cover photo across accounts. This account naturally colored.

  17. not only that, they had weak undercarriages, if we're talking about the ones built by Bombardier. This also led to SEPTA cars being delayed as well. If left unaddressed, it'd be like Chappaqua, but ten times as bad.
  18. @P3F I checked the MTA site and there's yet to be a mention. These are the only articles pertaining to the Astoria line: http://www.mta.info/press-release/nyc-transit/nyc-transit’s-enhanced-station-initiative-expands-astoria-line-stations http://www.mta.info/news/2017/10/10/enhanced-station-initiative-expands-astoria-line-stations-starting-oct-23
  19. I've always wondered why that isn't the case. Can't a pedestrian bridge or layover similar to the 62nd Street station be made, but for Livonia Avenue and Junius Street ? The tracks come so close there could be a staircase or even an elevator connecting the two. The 62nd Street complex is one of the dozens of stations slated for [♿] access , alongside the 77th St and Astoria Blvd station.
  20. @MysteriousBtrain @Vtrain @checkmatechamp13 from: Should the S79 SBS run 24 hours? The mall that it terminates near isn't open 24 hours. Maybe after 10 PM, it could be routed to another location instead of being drawn to the same spot. Also, are they planning on installing off bus pay boxes for the S79 SBS (or has it already happened)? And further, are they planning to do that for future SBS? A route for the North Shore was in a recent proposal. You were mentioned so that we may continue the conversation in the right section.
  21. When you put it that way, it does seem pointless and tiring.
  22. I believe those are for a SBS candidate, the Q52/53. They're also doing road rehabilitation, widening sidewalks and paint jobs near the Woodhaven Blvd station on the .
  23. I do intend to infuse humor but not confusion, but you have a point. Sometimes, it's less straightforward.
