  1. Yeah but not everyone from 1-530 got hired (assumption). City-data. https://data.cityofnewyork.us/City-Government/Civil-Service-List-Certification/a9md-ynri/data If you search up 06601, then scroll to the right, you will see it says "No. Request" 2000, and "No. Vacancies" 500. 1,500 don't get turned away. I'm just pretty sure they call a lot more people than they are ready to hire at the moment, because a lot of people either fail drug test, get placed on medical hold, turn down the job, moved, etc. Also, I'm sure more and more vacancies open up every month (either people quit, get fired, die, get promoted, whatever the case may be), so they continue to call from the 2,000 they originally called for preemployment (hence why it could take up to 90 days, a position isn't always available right away). Take this all with a grain of salt, it's just what I've heard around these forums, don't want to spread false information. If I'm wrong, someone correct me.
  2. Thank you so much for your help! Do you know if this is requested with your direct supervisor (who can be an a-hole), or with HR?
  3. Anyone know if you can use your vacation days within your 1 year probation period? Even if it's only 3-4 days off. How exactly does that work? I have a super important weekend coming up January 2019 that I really can't miss (assuming I get employed soon (God willing)).
  4. Based on these forums (take it with a grain of salt) around 520.
  5. Lol everyone here is so pressed, while this list is moving super fast. Be patience and be glad there is so much hope for so many of us.
  6. Exam application period starts today, ends June 26 for anyone interested. Requires at least a little bit security experience from my understanding. Education and Experience Requirements: By the last day of the Application Period you must meet the following requirements: A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, approved by a State’s Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization and eighteen months of full-time experience, of which at least twelve months must have been continuous (with one employer) performing security work, including at least two of the three duties below: a. Performing constant surveillance using closed-circuit television or patrolling a large facility or grounds. This must include recognizing and reporting suspicious behavior. b. Interacting with the general public, including confronting unauthorized personnel. c. Operating surveillance and intrusion detection equipment. Note: Military experience as described above will be accepted. SALARY AND BENEFITS The current minimum salary for Transit Property Protection Agent is $19.78 per hour for a 40-hour work week increasing to $28.25 in the sixth year of service. This rate is subject to change. The benefits of this position include, but are not limited to, night and weekend salary differentials, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, a comprehensive medical plan and a pension plan.
  7. Hopefully they keep it that way. I remember for the June 4 class (for both T/O and C/R), they had people going in literally even up until the Friday before.
  8. I just really wish they would do medicals at least 3 weeks before classes start, not wait until a week before.
  9. That's a great point... The lady told me I don't need to show up tomorrow, but you're right in that I (and others who have already took drug test) will need new drug test if we are going to be in the July 10 class. Heck, even if I show up tomorrow June 8, I would still need a new drug test for July 10. Does anyone know if they do another drug test at the medical?
  10. They gave no time table. And she said the reason why they sent it was for those who didn't show up for preemployment last time. Nice of them to give another chance.
  11. I just called them. They told me I can disregard it, and still need to wait to medical e-mail.
  12. Im gonna call tomorrow and ask. Dont want to take a day off for nothing.
  13. Yup, same exact letter with the attached 6 pages (work history).
  14. It is another preemployment letter for June 8. I already did my preemployment. Is it normal for someone to have to complete a second preemployment?
  15. I think they are both very similar (from what I have heard), just a matter of which one is more convenient for you location-wise.
  16. Don't remember the date exactly, but around August or September of last year.
  17. Thanks bro, will do. I thought the same thing, but I already got the PE letter in the mail after that. And this letter is related to this exam (can see it says 6601 and my list number through the letter). Must be either another preemployment or medical. I just thought it was always via email. I will keep you guys posted.
  18. Just strange, because I already did my preemployment (currently waiting for medical), but I have a New York City Transit letter in the mail waiting for me today (saw it on USPS Informed Delivery). Hopefully its nothing bad.
