Qualified on Day 10. Phew..now the next hurdle is the DMV road test. Only got one shot at it.

Day 8 & 9 out of Kingsbridge

Only one out of four of us has the chance to qualify on day 7, that's tomorrow. I did just one stupid mistake in Union Square. Instead of making a full stop when a driver opened his parked car door on my right side, I slowed the bus down and inched forward. Though I had the breaks covered if needed to stop, I was bit too close to the car. Didn't get charlie braked, driver got into the car without incident, but not coming to a full stop cost me. Another two extra days of training will do me good. Hope this will help the future candidates....

Finished day 4. El pillars, reverse and parallel parking. My whole class did well. Drew the bus from Brooklyn to Staten Island on the highway, was a breeze. Have to take a good rest over the weekend to hit the zoo on Monday. Probably uptown and midtown. Will be very challenging.

Any depots available for pick? Was it your pick or you were asked to go there?

Going on to day 4. Supt. Negron is a a great instructor. He's drilling it right in. I have somewhat mastered the turns including acute turns and s turns. Have to look out more for hazards. He said I can drive the bus but to focus on safety. Today we did the S46 route. Hills, construction sites, school zones, acute turns, s turns..it had it all. Tomorrow to Coney Island for El pillars.

They're not going to ask you anything about substance abuse. You just have to do the test. I don't know what happens if you fail..You also can not report for the test in which case, you'll be taken off the list, but can get restored your name when ready. Thanks..I'll keep that in mind..

Day 0 at Zerega today...paperwork, paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork. Drew there from Staten Island at 4.30, got there by 5.15am. No issue with parking. Tomorrow, training out of Yukon,Staten Island, 10 min from my home ...am I lucky or what...:?? Sup. Negron..anybody here had him before..??

Call Ms.Chestnut (347) 643-8213 and let her know you restored. I did after two weeks and she called me back the following day for drug test.

Congratulations...what are the depots available for your postings?.. did you get to pick or they assigned?

You might get an email on Thursday for medical on Friday. Just be prepared. If you pass medical, you'll be in the class with me on March 20th. Keep us posted.

From the posts here, I gather that the training is always at a depot in the Bronx. What I meant was after training...

Starting class on March 20th. Since I'm from State Island, my preference is Castleton or any other Depot in Staten Island. If none of those available, what are the other depots in Brooklyn closer to Staten Island?

You're lucky..Last Monday I was there from 7.40 am to 3 pm for the drug test. Be prepared to go for your medical on Tue/Wed. If you pass, you'll be on the March 20th class with me.

Does one have to go to Zeraga everyday during the training? I have to report there at 7 am for he March 20th class. It's a tough commute for me from Staten Island. I guess driving there is not a option...
