1. Just a thought… to avoid situations like at 59th St on Lex, how about the MTA programs announcements so that the next stop is announced with transfers after you leave the previous stop instead of when you arrive at the next stop? It was done during the bus announcement pilot, so why not on the subways?
2. I see. But isn't it standard procedure during these storms to use standards since they're easier to control?
3. I'm dumbfounded that I haven't seen any snow loaners in the Bronx yet… shouldn't that have been done last night or very early this morning?
4. Then again, the MDBF of R46s is actually in the middle when it comes to all the NYCT cars. How come they're often involved in the most high-profile incidents, like when that R46 F train stranded passengers recently?
5. I believe this may answer your question. They really need to get rid of the R46s.
6. They'd probably get used to it eventually…. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
7. No, they haven't. There isn't even a Guide-a-Ride. I think they just put the local sign on the same pole as the SBS sign. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
8. People already have trouble knowing the difference when Bx12 SBS service ends during late nights and are waiting at 10th Avenue at around 11 or so. They never read the destination signs! I'm sure you know about that very well. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
9. Nope. There were no announcements or a route display. Just "Welcome Aboard." Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
10. So I was on 4079 on the Bx12 tonight and it has info screens but no announcements. Have they expanded the pilot? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
11. Why is the trackbed on the between 145th St and 168th St so noisy, even with all the construction that's been happening on that line? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
12. What if you ran SAS under Third Avenue in the Bronx up to Tremont Avenue then turn it east under Tremont Park to make it a crosstown to Throggs Neck? Or you can turn it at Fordham and make it a Fordham/Pelham Parkway crosstown to Co-op City. Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
13. Wouldn't it be useful to listen to radio chatter to find out about unplanned service changes in advance, or would a simple notification from the MTA website or announcement be sufficient? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
14. Does anyone here have a scanner/listen to NYCT radio transmissions? Cuz if regular railfans have it, then why not MTA railfans? Sent from my iPhone using NYC Transit Forums mobile app
