  1. It just did. (I literally just rode it half an hour ago from Times Square to Queens). 1934 facing Flushing, 2091 facing Manhattan. Both half-cabs. It's a shame they'll be gone very soon.
  2. It’s not the ones on the that’s the problem, it’s the ones on the that are maintained like crap. There’s always dents in the wall from disgruntled train operators banging their brake handle.
  3. I was walking to the shuttle platform from the at Times Square, and as the train passed the shuttle tracks to go uptown, I saw a half cab in the back (it wasn’t a full cab closed the wrong way, because the light above the RFW was on and I could see into the car). Is this something new, because this morning I saw R62 #1305 with a strange new floor.
  4. On that topic, can you stay on the after bowling green as it loops back around, or do you have to get off?
  5. I’ve heard they should be gone by January. But wouldn’t it make sense to keep some singles and 5-cars around in case CBTC fails and/or garbage trains?
  6. A massive section of tunnel collapses between Bowery and Essex St, and the Essex st station itself loses power, so the platforms are closed. No trains can go through the Nassau line, but the Christie cut is still open. The issue will take months to fix and investigate, as there are also water leaks between Bowery and Broad St. Has major impact on service.
  7. Personally I’d narrow it down to the and . The has a decent portion outdoors, so that shouldn’t put a burden on the A/C, and as the previous comment said, there’s more doors to board from during rush hour. However, there’s the chance that the rollsigns get erroneous and people don’t know if it goes to the Rockaways (which already happens anyway) The only runs on weekdays (at least right now) and Coney Island maintains its cars very well, so giving the cars a break on the weekends adds a little to their useful lives. Rarely rerouted through montague. Feasible option. The could also be considered, maybe a train or two assigned there just to try things out. There’s plenty of fast Express portions (CPW and the short sixth av express). There’s many layup/unused tracks along the so if a train breaks down it wouldn’t be too bad. A lot of people think the is too “crowded”. But the 32s would come in handy going fast on QBL EXP and eventually the Culver EXP if it happens. Also increases amount of doors to board from (assuming the seven or so R46s are displaced) The runs OPTO, but that shouldn’t be a thing when the Canarsie shut down happens. It would help to run eight or ten car trains, and the 32s themselves are faster than the hippos currently on the line. The only shares tracks with the so if a train breaks down it won’t be a midtown calamity. Personally I would go with the
  8. Just saw R62A 1960 on the back in the flushing bound lead (with the rfw), it was in the middle of the train for months, the same train as 1920. Is this the last R62A set at Corona?
  9. Sooo... I watched a few videos from this week with an R62A (during the weekday). Anyone know if it’s a permanent assignment?
  10. R188 7631 on the has a completely missing advertisement case ripped off of the wall, with washed out graffiti marks directly above it. Not surprising. Thanks Westchester.
  11. Increased Service Reduced Service/some trains terminate at WTC or Lefferts Blvd runs via the line to Euclid Av, making local stops in Queens Jamaica Ctr to Bay Ridge-95 St via 4 Av Lcl Metropolitan Av/Bway Jct to Coney Island via Sea Beach Suspended Suspended Suspended Suspended Some trains to Forest Hills-71 Av Ditmars Blvd to Whitehall St, all times via local Some trains Forest Hills-71 Av (trains lengthened to 8-10 Cars)
  12. Wait, whaaat? How do trains access Wall St on the using the loop? Is there some changing ends thing?
  13. Lol its like what would happen if trains went to Forest Hills without a Queens bypass.
  14. What I would do is run the as is down the "local" outer tracks and the on the "express". If the need arises the two center tracks at Chambers should be extended south and built to underpin the local tracks, and then run express on a lower level until they get to south of Broad, where they connect with Montague.
  15. Seems like we have levitating trains. May as well sign them up as s.
  16. Was out on the today and caught a glimpse of that car as I left Flushing. The T/O was probably inputting the program for to manhattan when I saw the all orange sign light up saying "SIGN INITIALIZING" in orange caps.
  17. True but the R68s do have signs for 86th Street, and unlike the 160s, they actually say Gravesend.
  18. Wait, what? The M shuttle is running R32s during the shutdown?

  20. Some time last week a train derailed at Mets-Willets Point. https://www.google.com/amp/newyork.cbslocal.com/2017/01/30/queens-subway-derail/amp/?client=safari
  21. If we implement a turquoise , then we could have: Fulton Exp to Far Rockaway Fulton Lcl to Lefferts Blvd Fulton Exp to Rockaway Park-Beach 116 Fulton Lcl to Euclid Avenue Rockaway Shuttle-All Times Except Nights
  22. That was last May. Things may change. Besides, since it's planned to run in two directions, why not just call it the to avoid confusion with the local?
  23. So then IF the Montague clearance issue is fixed, then can't they just run some trains to Prospect Park or Brighton Beach during the remaining tunnel closures?
  24. Really? According to who? And even if it's not fixed, R32s can still operate on the since those lines never travel through the tunnel.
