  1. Exactly. But I could still see the as popular if it would be easily extended past Hanover Sq into Brooklyn via Montague and 4th Avenue, or maybe some kind of Sea Beach Express.
  2. Good idea, but only if they bring that station and Chambers back to a good shape with some massive renovation; that's the only way people won't ridicule it when a transfer opens. The way I see it, the only way to do that is to cut back service to Essex Street on the weekends.
  3. Whatever happened to the light blue seats on the R62a's? I've seen less and less of them.
  4. You're right about the Lexington Avenue situation; not only that, but there's only one direct transfer staircase from the Downtown to the . But when it comes to mezzanines, sure we're "building for the future", but I think it's a waste of money to start making giant mezzanines at every new subway stop. In essence, every additional square foot is another square foot of maintenance.
  5. Service Change Posted: 01/23/2017 5:30PM Due to a tree on the tracks at Sheepshead Bay, southbound trains are running express from Kings Hwy to Sheepshead Bay. Allow additional travel time.
  6. The upper level of W 4th St collapses onto the lower one. trains cannot run through the station.
  7. Still remember that program like it was yesterday. Also remember when the FIND would get stuck at Brooklyn or Canal St, and the constantly broken screens.
  8. Does anyone know how long it takes to get a roll sign from the MTA? I emailed asset recovery the forms for my offer last weekend and they haven't gotten back to me yet.
  9. I think someone else said this, but the MTA hasn't built any new elevated structures in a while (besides the Archer Avenue approach and the Franklin Shuttle). And some more things: where would the tunnel portal be built, and wouldn't it be a little cumbersome to have to build over/under the Metro-North just before the station?
  10. Personally, I would like to see 125/2nd with maybe a stop at 3rd Avenue/149. But just on a side note, does anyone else find the 55th Street station a little awakward? It would be such a long transfer to the at 51st, and personally, despite additional costs, I would prefer a 60th Street Station and a 51st Street Station on the .
  11. The has a bad dead end at 2nd Avenue, which would mean current riders coming from Brooklyn would have to transfer to the from the at Essex, and then make another transfer to the . Besides, I don't think Bay Ridge has good capacity for handling both and .
  12. Will there be occasional R211's, since the and are all based in Coney Island?
  13. About the R32s: Can someone clarify the details of the whole R32 to the thing? (Like what's happening to the other cars and when is this happening)
  14. What about the r188's? Last time I checked, the still had announcements for the at Queensboro Plaza.
  15. In my opinion, the only way Chambers Street can ever go back to the state it was in when it opened is to close the entire station.
  16. Wouldn't be surprised if there is work, since 24HR service just started on Monday.
  17. Just to be clear, will/when will we see the 179's on the ?
  18. Don't know, but I think I also saw a new NEXT TRAIN sign on the 73rd Street side of the mezzanine (near the escalators)
  19. A massive fire on the Sixth Avenue Line platforms at 34th Street renders all four tracks impassable.
  20. Lol, probably: 125-Hanover 125-Coney Island Airtrain extension And many crazy expansion projects!
  21. Is this happening every weekend, and I thought the stations were supposed to be closed for six months?
  22. suspended reduced service in two sections: Astoria-Ditmars to 34th Street, and Stillwell Avenue to Atlantic-Barclays via 6th Avenue Whitehall St to Bay Ridge-95 suspended Some trains to Bay Ridge Some trains to Forest Hills-71
  23. According to the renderings, there should be colored logo electronic signs on the ends of the trains.
  24. I'm not too big of a fan of side platforms, especially if 116th ends up being the last stop in Manhattan before a Bronx extension (which won't likely happen in 100 years). Building an island platform saves resources (elevators, stairs, tiles, etc.) and allows easy cross-platform transfers.
