  1. I'm not too big of a fan of side platforms, especially if 116th ends up being the last stop in Manhattan before a Bronx extension (which won't likely happen in 100 years). Building an island platform saves resources (elevators, stairs, tiles, etc.) and allows easy cross-platform transfers.
  2. Totally agree, Hopefully the Train of Many Metals.
  3. Personally, I could see them trying to cut costs by removing the third track from 125th St.
  4. Lol if you look at the original retirement schedule from the 90s the r32s and r42s were due for retirement MANY years ago.
  5. Totally agree. Good to see changes on the , but also sad to see the r42's go.
  6. Didn't they also want Hanover Square to have three tracks?
  7. The MTA just posted a detailed announcement of SAS and the station entrances. http://web.mta.info/nyct/service/2ndAve_Q/New_Q_service.html
  8. Don't really know either, probably in March/April 2017. What's with the r142a's on the , will one of those still be assigned to the even after CBTC is done?
  9. They updated the schedules. http://www.mta.info/schedules
  10. I'm pretty new too. Anyways: 1) There's currently no known plans to renovate the rest of the station. 2) I saw a track map some time ago and 116th St still had an island platform like the rest of the stations. However, 125th Street will be a three track station with two island platforms, and the layup tracks north of the curve to 125th will be capable of storing around nine or trains.
  11. Is it just me, but didn't they forget to put the ADA-accessible symbol for the three stations on the second avenue ? schedule: http://web.mta.info/nyct/service/pdf/tqcur.pdf
  12. Will they put new stickers or roll signs on the R68's for the second avenue like they did for the extension, or will they still say 57th St?
  13. Where will the r68's from the go, and won't there also be some 32s on the ?
  14. Hopefully some remediation happens after it opens on January 1st.
