  1. I’m curious to see if the city funds the city part services of MNR how would the timetable restructuring look like.
  2. 1896-1990 is coming back in service, except all of its side rollsign boxes are now stickers.
  3. Oh boy. I can't tell you the amount of times I try to enforce something and I get immediately screamed at, or someone threatens to harm me. Point is, needs to do something about this, agency wide. We shouldn't have to be defending ourselves for doing our jobs. Have more police presence, speed up response times, and actually enforce the #1 which causes most of these problems in the first place, which is farebeating.
  4. I heard that Kawasaki dropped out because of issues with LIRR, but without Kawasaki who else is qualified to build the cars? Alstom?
  5. But it also doesn't help when conductors on LIRR are getting screamed at or hit with their own printers for trying to enforce even the slightest of rules, or when bus drivers have to fend off attackers with knives...
  6. Vape??? They smoke weed, crack, etc and whenever used to complain to NYCT on WhatsApp they say they would send someone and never do.
  7. I meant to say before 2008. And that incident is exactly why the authority should have beefed up security and police responses on board their buses.
  8. When I was a driver I was one of the very few that actually enforced the fare. It seems nowadays fare beating is considered the norm and trying to enforce it automatically turns into backlash from passengers or from your managers. Which sucks, because it was never this bad 10-15 years ago. Hell, every time puts out a “please pay your fare” PR message on social media, they get a shit ton of hate replies demeaning them for…enforcing the rule? I truly do hope upsizes the eagle team drastically and this new DA actually prosecutes fare beating with a hefty fine.
  9. These cars were ill advised from the start. I wouldn’t be surprised if they convert them into A units, put them on the Rock or just retire them.
  10. I think it’s time we discuss the negative aspects of CBTC when it comes to planned work and emergency reroutes. There has been an issue on Astoria or the 60th St tubes probably 10 times in the last month, and because the and use SMEE equipment and aren’t compatible with QBL CBTC, this causes such unnecessary congestion with trains backing up because they can’t even relay them at Queens Plaza or send them to Forest Hills. This is going to be another major issue once 8th Av CBTC is online, for the same reason.
  11. Can't they just shut the whole line down for a week when ridership is at it's lowest to accelerate these changes?
  12. Me being one of them. Sure, it's a quick ride on the 4 bus but that takes the convivence out of it, not to mention it makes the exact same major stops at the railroad at 42nd (where most people are getting off at). I would have appreciated if it didn't closely follow the Harlem line for most of its run, like operate via the BxM2 routing to Penn Station.
  13. Don't bother, it'll be an endless pointless argument with him. In other news. There's been opposition for the changes to the 1W, 1C, 5, 20, and 17.
  14. To this day, why the TA listened to these outrageous claims is beyond me. IIRC, this is also what accelerated the RTS retirement by 6-7 months.
  15. I get wanting to keep jobs the same and tolerable, but why hasn’t anything been done about the weekend cutting out conductors and being opto? Seems like it’s a waste of money and man power to continually keep separating and coupling together cars for two days.
  16. We can agree to disagree. I'd like to know what deadhead's you think are wasteful (other then the weekend ones which have a point).
  17. @553 Bridgeton For the life of me, I can not understand why NJT does not pay their drivers pre-trip time or why the union hasn't fought for it. I've looked at about 12 other agencies in the northeast who all pay for pre-trip time. Is this not a major issue among drivers right now?
  18. The BxM4D was only created because of the railroad strike. The reason why the BxM4C wasn't apart of the MTA takeover is because it was based out of the local garage and not the express garage (which is now Yonkers). HA! Good luck getting people off the train. The 4C is done, it's been done since the 2010 cuts. I disagree, it's not the company that's not increasing service, it's the county. All operations (except the 4C) are owned by the WDOT (or NYSDOT depending on the route), which is why it's so dam hard to get any change done in the network. I know because I've tried several times to ask them to change things. The 32 for example, loses time because it has to go on Buena Vista for no reason and often gets stuck behind double parked cars and illegally parked cars instead of just going straight on Riverdale. I think I asked 3 times before I started the new job and never received a response.
  19. Which was extremely dumb on their part, because most of the casino patronage comes from Manhattan and the Bronx (specifically off the ).
  20. See this is why I wish we were able to see ridership trip by trip on all the BxM’s (including the 4C) because I want to see if off peak service is being “well used” as they say it is.
  21. Wym “it is” going to stick around? The county wants it gone.
  22. Surprisingly buses are actually leaving mostly full to full during rush hour. I wouldn’t say I want it gone, but severely modified with service north of ardsley rd cut.
  23. Yeah it’s an express, it’s even labeled as such on the signage. There are discrepancies however between how the county prints the timetables and how they’re actually supposed to be operated. IIRC, that 26th St stop was discontinued by like five years ago and the county still has it listed as a stop.
  24. Aren’t the end doors on the R44 SIROTA fleet suppose to be unlocked?
  25. As far as I know both of them are express?
