  1. It is now April 2024 and I am here again to ask about this company. But I did myself the favor and passed by the Yonkers depot and got some information with the hopes someone here can expand. The security guard told me they are in need of drivers badly and that I can go with just my permit and the company will train me. I would be paid lower compared to others because I have no experience but I'm hoping that someone can expand a bit on that. What is the starting current pay for a rookie holding permit driver? With Liberty Lines looking to sell off the bus company, would now be a bad time to join? Any extra information would be greatly appreciated.
  2. Welp, after a few life events I've decided to come back to try to get my CDL B license to get into this company. Are they still in need of drivers asap? I'm hoping to take my test and start driving lessons soon. BTW, seems like the liberty lines website has been down for a few days now which sucks because i wanted to go and read up a bit more about the company.
  3. With the shortage of bus drivers, how many hours a week are the current ones averaging? I'll take a guess and say it's north of 50.
  4. Is 39 too late to become a transit bus driver? I'm going to get my CDL B with the idea of driving school buses, but I see that the bee line system is in need of drivers. I've lived in Yonkers almost my entire life and I can imagine the clientele is not easy to deal with, but is that not the story of all transit bus companies in general? What's the best and worst part of the job?
  5. Any updated information regarding liberty lines? I've decided I'm going to get my CDL B license and was going to look into driving school buses, but if the opportunity is there with LL, I will probably jump at it as I got reminded how good the benefits are with the company. Also, is retirement still 59 if you enroll with the union? I've talked to a few drivers around downtown yonkers and they all seem to give me different answers. Thank you.
  6. SiriusXM Rush Sports on the cellphone and some video game soundtracks on my laptop.
  7. What's up guys. Anyone know if Liberty Lines is still hiring? I live in Yonkers and know of the company very well. whenever they have job openings I know it's a scramble to get an application in. I am considering getting my CDL B with the endorsements to apply but I have no idea if I should if they already have filled up their driver quota.
