That is a true opinion either they will return or they will not return. Currently R179 are out of service because they all need to be fixed and in good safety conditions. Then they could return so hopefully they are fixing them all now or are they just sitting in the yards doing nothing. They may return or not return is a true opinion. R179 did not return yet that is a fact. R179 may or may not return that is an opinion. They cannot return until they are all fixed.

Subway service is pretty good now. R46 alone both on will also become short on Subway Cars. They need another fleet of subway cars.

Until they are fixed and what happens if they are not fixed.

R179 is out of service now so R160 sets are running on until they return or they may not return.

R160 sets may have to stay on Line permanently or until R179 returns, they may or may not return we will all soon see what is going to happen.

That is how County Suburban people act vs. City people.

Hopefully they will get them all fixed up really good and bring them back into service soon. Just like all of the other Subway cars in service now had flaws and issues too when they first started, and then they kept on fixing them and now they are so reliable.

The electrical supplier in The Rockaways is power by LIPA(Long Island Power Authority) they provide less power voltages. Con Edison provides more power voltages for the rest of the Subway System except in the Rockaway areas. Currently All NTT cars(R142/R142A/R188/R143/R160/R179) use more power voltages than the older Subway cars(R32/R46/R68/R68A/R62/R62A). R160 need to use more voltages to operate in The Rockaway areas powered by LIPA produced less voltages. The problem is currently resolved now because R179 just recently operated good in The Rockaways and now R160s. Currently now LIPA is now joint together with PSEG(Public Service Enterprise Group) in The Rockaways.

The buses are jampacked crowded as well now.

One of the first sets of R160s did a 30 day passenger service test on . Now after all of these years now they are finally using them for regular passenger service. Before R160 had some electrical power issues on The Rockaway Line in Queens, then they fixed the problem and started using R179 and now those cars are having some unrelated mechanical issues and was pulled from service to be fixed maybe they will return to passenger service soon. And now using R160 and R46.
