  1. Updates should be on MTA social media and on their website, I haven't seen any news reports yet but any changes to service could be based off of http://web.mta.info/coldWeather/
  2. Updates should be on MTA social media and on their website, I haven't seen any news reports yet but any changes to service could be based off of http://web.mta.info/coldWeather/ Im not too aware yet of the specific changes but hopefully someone else on the forum might know.
  3. Just wait when the R211's start getting delivered and the foamers go crazy over the death of the R32's
  4. When were they installed? I don't ride the but I do know CBTC is being initiated and at 2018 when newer, cheaper much better B division clocks are already active.
  5. The foam levels are real especially when you're laughing at 2:00 in the morning, its so bad it actually get's good but then it gets bad again. What a way to start 2018! This is probably the latest i'll ever be up on this forum, HAPPY NEW YEARS! and I really need rest....
  6. The R179 hype train has no brakes, some have observed it is faster than those in Japan
  7. Definitely fake when I first read it, but now I find it funny.
  8. Guess im not the only one who dislikes R68's haha! Also, How many times has this thread gone off topic?
  9. That would be the most sensible time to run R42's or R32's on The Rockaway Park , I do remember R32's running on the Franklin Ave. but im not sure if they used OPTO.
  10. That makes sense, well, I guess that also uncontends the R42's
  11. It seems almost a norm for most old train division B cars to be having their last years or last run entirely on the , R40's, R38 and R44 for NYCTA most famously. It's above ground, but also very long underground as well, I would've loved to see the R32's continue on the and not undergo fleet swapping, they spent most of their years on that line and made it awesome to ride for me especially with the lines influx of R160's. I wish they would add R160's or at least more R179's on the as they would even out and modernize a line that has always relied on such old trains especially now with this R32 fleet swap. I also hope some R32's will go on the Franklin and Rockaway Park as both are above ground mostly and short routes that can be prioritized for non rush hour, im sure they might but we'll have to see.
  12. No matter what train car's run on the , it won't change the our long commutes, or our ability to sit down at the start of the line.
  13. Good luck with that happening, the 211's are entirely different designs with so much to test out , the is also less likely to rush out new trains these days to begin with!
  14. I saw this today as well, I freaked out on the like it was summer 2012! I hope at least some of these trains stay permanent to the !
  15. Question. Does the Rockaway even need new trains in the first place? Most of the time, the trains are empty and it's one of the least used lines in the system, it's only crowded during the summer and even then it uses 8 cars instead of 4 to alleviate the traffic just fine. I'm sure most 211's will appear on the A, it will get rid of most R46's.
  16. LOL, If that happened, rail fans would split up!
  17. I am sure they will probably use it for that if it can be implemented, it's certainly not a bad idea.
  18. While you're not wrong and I still agree, I did phrase my question horribly, I was talking about the LCD rollsigns on the sides of the car and not the front LCD's (which I think make sense.
  19. I am really impressed with the R211 mockup's design, new look and open gangway configuration! Here are my more constructive thoughts: I liked the protoype design wraps on the side of the train better than the Cuomo style wraps found on the mockup also seen on some refurb R160's Im not so sure about the LCD destination signs, why are they really needed? It seems somewhat extravagant to have expensive LCD's displaying nothing more than the line and destinations themselves. Even if they find use for it, can people really live without it or even care? Im not totally on board with the idea yet. Lastly, I want to question on that the FIND also now tells you time to next station. It's fine if you're traveling little stations but im not sure anyone will trust it if there traveling longer distances due to the fact that more delays can occur in a longer time frame. This also raises a problem with the South Channel Bridge, which can get lowered and raised at any time without consent, this can render that feature only somewhat useful if your going to/from the Rockaways, which I know is specific to the , but thats still something to consider.
  20. Does anyone know the specific date the Q52/Q53 sbs will start running, it must be soon. I saw some of the new XD90's I think on the 53. I also saw some at the Far Rockaway yard when I was riding on the A which must be for the 52. While other posts here about this question exist, im pretty sure the dates aren't exact.
