  1. I've been out of the loop with the Queens Bus Redesign, has any news dropped on any changes or anything or have things remained silent since the Revised Draft Plan?
  2. Makes me wonder how they get their hands on such information so fast.
  3. Because thats a (minimum) 6 out of 12 TPH you’re diverting away from Jamaica
  4. There’s No Rail ROW on Conduit and like I said in my previous post, the Catchment area along Conduit just low rise Residential Buildings and therefore, isn’t strong enough to support a Sufficient Ridership Base. Also Splitting the and would Hurt Riders along Jamaica Avenue as that’d basically be a 50% Service Cut. Assuming we don’t address any of the other Bottlenecks that plague the Jamaica Line first.
  5. Conduit has no catchment area outside of Low Rise Residential Buildings. In addition to that, I would advise against adding a branch on the East of Crescent Street. Also that statement of a Conduit Extension being more realistic than SAS when Phase 2 is literally about to start the construction phase is quite laughable.
  6. All 3 of these Stations already have or are in the process of getting Elevators…
  7. So If I’m understanding correctly, 4 Sets are in Service Right now?
  8. I don’t think thats how any of that works…. but I’m not an RTO guy so I can’t answer those questions.
  9. I made this chart showing CBTC Progression by Track Mileage earlier this year, hope it has the answer you find: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1rJ6Pm3XYACHCyMT-WdW8PSEiLuGckFw4rCb_xNtySqo/edit But Right Now as you said, CBTC is compatible in the following sections: Canarsie - 8th Avenue - ROCK PARK Flushing - 34th/11th - Main Street Queens Blvd - 50th/8th; 47-50th/Rockefeller Center; 21st-QB to Union Turnpike
  10. Interesting point you bring up. Lets say hypothetically the new Subway Car Orders all include a fleet expansion. We know Option II of the R-211 is meant to be a fleet Expansion. The R-262 and R-268 contracts I believe will include some kind of fleet expansion. Now, what I’m more interested in is this. Storing Trains in Express and Layup Tracks is one way to mitigate the Yard Capacity Issue but after a certain point, a plan or something will need to arise where Yard Expansion or a New Rail Yard/Maintenance Facility will need to be considered. Whats being looked at right now to ensure that we have the capacity handle increased service/# of rolling stock?
  11. Interesting… Looking at it right now so I guess that should be an interesting 2 nights.
  12. I’m under the impression that the study for Utica Avenue has already been completed but hasn’t been officially published yet.
  13. Revisiting this, nice to see that all of these stations are currently in progress for getting ADA Accessibility.
  14. Let’s put this into perspective. 140 of the R-211’s being Delivered will make up for the loss of the R-32’s that were retired back in 2022. 940 R-211’s are needed to Fully Replace the R-46 Fleet. I’m not going to Count the 75 R-211S’s as they’re not relevant to my point. As it stands now, the Base Order and Option 1 Combined will be enough to displace the R-68/68A to CIY if we take 6th Avenue CBTC into Account, but I don’t think it will be enough to make the and Full Length Yet. …thats where Option Order 2 comes in.
  15. Its nice to hear that the R-268 Contract is a thing. Now its only a matter of time before we learn about what the base order will consist of and if there will be any Option orders.
  16. The Connections to the 63rd Street Tunnel are still planned to be built. But until then, the only confirmed information about them is that they’ll be used for Deadheads to/from Jamaica
  17. Thats a non-issue. Will it drive up Operating Costs while the work is being done? Yes. But do what you gotta do to maintain ADA Compliance at that point
  18. Thats precisely why it was postponed, on top of ‘s priorities changing. Maybe the platforms will all be closed full time but line segments where PSD Installation is taking place will be suspended on Weekends and Overnight? We’ll just have to wait and see
  19. Ima drop a personal opinion I have on the timeline of SAS. By the Time Phase 2 is in the middle of or near the completion of its construction, thats when I think Should get the ball rolling on Phase 3 so that by the time Phase 2 is Open for Service, Phase 3 would already be underway and we waste less time with getting it done. And same with Phase 4. Do I believe that’ll happen? Unlikely but hey, you never know.
  20. Lexington and Astoria-Broadway were pushed to the 2025-2029 Capital Plan. The Fulton Line from High Street to Euclid Avenue (in addition to that entire interlocking area surrounding Jay Street) was awarded a contract for this capital program that were in. And like @R32 3838 said, the IND have the oldest Signals in the system so given that Ridership is no longer the priority, it makes sense to replace the oldest Signals First. As for every other line, they’re all planned but Considers them low priority atm so you won’t be seeing them anytime soon, although Plans are Subject to change at any moment. Technically you could overlay CBTC onto the existing fixed-block System but it won’t be Operational until you have the Enough Rolling Stock Equipped with CBTC. Contractors installed the Wrong Track Ties so they had to go back and redo it. But yea, the CBTC Schedule is looking like this at the moment: Complete: - Canarsie - Flushing - Queens Blvd West (50/8th to UT) Under Construction: - Culver (Church Av to West 8th) (Delayed due to Contractor Error) - 8th Avenue (59 to High St) - Queens Blvd East (UT to 179th) (Archer Avenue Branch postponed) Contract Awarded: - Crosstown+Culver North - Fulton Street - 63rd Street+6th Avenue (21st to York St) Postponed to 2025-2029 Capital Program: - Lexington Avenue (149th-Nevins) - Astoria+Broadway And then of course there’s the Fast Forward Plan, which most lines on here are a part of, I’m not sure how committed to it the still is to that but I hope they can pick up the pace soon.
  21. NGL, these new Weekend Service Maps are pretty helpful, would be nice if they replaced the map on Weekends in those Screens that display the map
  22. Heard that the T’s were running around doing testing a few days ago, thats cool
