  1. 17.5 or less last time I checked, they also ask sleep apnea questions during the medical on the computer and paper.
  2. If your neck measures more than 17.5 they'll put you on medical hold for sleep apnea.
  3. Try this number Monday morning (347)643-8217 that's the number for Olha she's very nice and helpful she's just like Ms. Vargas I would say don't leave a voice-mail because they don't ever return calls back from what I've seen in the past.
  4. People get canned for lying about shit most of the time, if you hit an automatic just call it in, let go of the master controller call it in. So many people are scared of calling things in and just covering it up its ridiculous. Most you'll do if its nothing crazy serious is write a G2 big whoop you'll get an extra 1 hour of OT. This job is easy to keep as long as you do what you're supposed to do.
  5. A DAN is a Disciplinary Action Notice aka something you don't want on record.
  6. I don't think they really care much as long as you don't have probably anything too crazy and make sure all tickets are paid off.
  7. Nope, you will be doing the drug test over at 180 Livingston street on your scheduled date.
  8. Yeah you're good, but you gotta pay them off I've heard people get they have to pay in order to continue.
  9. Yeah you're not going to be able to move forward if you don't pay any tickets you have.
  10. You're going to have to pay that off before you even move forward, they're going to let you know that once you tell them.
  11. What are some of the questions they asked I haven't filled it out in a long time.
  12. Yeah stay positive, as long as you study and ask questions you’ll get the job, the people who are failing are the ones not studying and not asking questions. Remember we aren't born knowing how to operate a train.
  13. It could be possible tbh you can easily lose 2 lbs safely a week with diet and exercise. Congrats btw and good luck, you got this!
  14. Yeah you're good you're neck shouldn't be bigger than 17.5, if so you're good.
  15. You'll answer a medical questionnaire, and then they taste your hearing, vision, ekg, pee for diabetes, your weight, lastly you see a doctor they ask you questions and measure your neck if your neck is measured to be too big they'll place you on medical hold for possible sleep apnea. If all goes well you'll get sworn in on the same day and will be given a start date.
  16. 9 months if in the B division and 6 months if you're in the A division. Training time might have been cut to get more T/Os out sooner, when I came out we had the full experience, I've heard now they've cut the length of YX training.
  17. This forum doesn't tolerate disrespect how are we supposed to be future co workers if this is how we're going to end up responding to people. Have a good day
  18. What I would do is study base on what the syllabus has for the current week. For example if this week you're having to do cuts and adds on a smee or a ntt then study that. The first practical is on preparing a train for a yard move and cuts and adds, so study that. Also you need to incorporate signals of course because how can you move a train without knowing the signals and what they mean.
  19. As soon as you get the boots in the mail you must wear them right away, they're part of your uniform.
  20. Quite honestly I don't see it being smart to be printing 310 pages wasting your own ink, if anybody gives you a problem tell them what 180 Livingston told you. I myself wouldn't be printing out anything that transit should be providing I'm good. You won't get in trouble for not having your rulebook if 180 legit said to download it on your phone, case closed.
  21. If you're urine us dirty you'll get a call from transit letting you know, if you get no call from transit after your pre employment drug test that means you've passed the drug test. Every 90 days the drug test expires and you'd have to take another drug test. Also unrelated to making sure your pee is clean, I doubt transit is going to stop hiring T/Os anytime soon we're still short train operators and conductors. Also there isn't another test out yet if transit stopped calling people now more trips would end up ABD. Stop beating yourselves up if you aren't called yet, transit isn't the fastest. MTA = Might Take Awhile
