  1. Stop smoking now and defer until a later date, once you get drug tested and test positive for whatever you were smoking you won't be getting a call back and they won't consider you. My advice also stop posting your all 4 numbers of your list number, supervisors, TSS, and others watch this forum and stating that you smoked and with your list number they could determine your real name and other stuff. Be careful posting information that could incriminate you. Anyways I would defer until a later date until you test negative for smoking. Best of luck!
  2. The scheduling is bad its just hard to get used to if you're not used to it. With getting thrown around every tour every week PMs one week next week Midnights and the following Ams. I for the most part never had my scheduled changed since I came out I picked Pms on the preference sheet and got Pms so far. Some other people aren't as lucky just depends. Your days off each week can change also one week your off Sat Sun and then the following week Tues Wed.
  3. Yeah the PDF version doesn't count, especially when you're out on the road they want you to carry the actual book with you at all times, and they are going to refer to the book at times during school car. Call 180 Livingston Street telling them you never got an actual book, don't waste your home ink when you can get an actual book instead. That blue book aka the rules and regulation book is part of your PPE that you must have during school car and after school car also.
  4. It's not a big deal if the boots don't arrive in time just make sure to have the receipt and/or documents showing proof that you've ordered them and are waiting for them. Usually the boots come very fast via UPS; speaking of uniforms make sure to wear the proper uniform or clothes while you're waiting for you uniform. Example let's say your pants come but you're still waiting on the navy blue shirts, then you'll have to wear the mta pants with your own navy blue shirt. Each time a piece of your uniform comes in start wearing them. If the shirts come before the pants then wear the shirt with your own dark navy blue pants until the pants come. Also make sure when you get your boots that they're worn at all times when on duty, especially being on probation you don't wanna mess around. With that being said conductor school car is as easy as you make it study and you'll be golden. And always make sure to ask your TSS any questions that you have until you understand it yourself.
  5. Good morning everyone just wanted to mention that they're calling people currently for the sepetember 5th class, keep a look out for those emails. Also there's no mention on the next class after that.
  6. Bump is short for bring up my post, they write something to bring their message or post up in front so it gets someone's attention. Which was done on both the conductor and train operator forum pages.
  7. It should be $59.73 when at top pay which is currently $39.81 after 231 road days.
  8. And during road ops the hours are 7pm until 3am at different locations mostly starting out of a yard or terminal. Memories of when I did all this last year almost 2 years a t/o time flies.
  9. Signals are 100% but they aren't as hard compared to NJT, LIRR or MetroNorth signals thankfully. As long as everybody studies in this forum they'll pass with flying colors. Pay attention, ask questions (there's no stupid questions at all you need to understand what's going on), and study study study.
  10. If it's a recent study bring in the reading it doesn't hurt to not bring it in
  11. Exactly of course you do, but what they teach is crazy bang your t/o in for everything. But yeah minor things should just be talked about during the incident. Team work makes the dream work.
  12. Yeah no it definitely is especially when you haven't worked for transit before like myself when I started I was like this school car experience is intense, but now when I look back I'm like it's not too bad. I just hate how the TSS instructors put conductors against train operators, having them pull the chord for any little thing smh it's bad...
  13. You probably gotta post more maybe on the forums I'm on both helping both forums out with questions, considering I was a conductor first and now a train operator
  14. I see it try this link, that link I sent 3 years ago probably changed. https://www.amazon.com/KAKA-Backpack-Waterproof-Students,Anti-Theft-40L(Black)/dp/B00Y9WXB7E/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=PCSKWYST4TBM&keywords=kaka%2Bbackpack&qid=1659231765&sprefix=kaka%2B%2Caps%2C109&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1
  15. I used the 22.5 inch bag for t/o school car, it's a decent bag, but it'll help with carrying your study books with you and your tools as well.
  16. Hopefully if not August then September or the next class after, remember not everybody is gonna pass the medical and the drug test. So they'll need to replace those people.
  17. How high is your list number currently I was in the low 1000s and been out since last year October.
  18. Possibly stay open because they need people especially in the B division can't speak for the A division. But they always missing crews and I haven't seen a test for train operators only conductors currently...
