It was hysterical watching so many passengers this morning at Kosciuszko not get on the , expecting an to come next. Read the damn signs! Hipsters...I wanted to get out and shake everyone.

Saw both R179s passing each other this morning at Kosciuszko Street, thing of beauty. Though we all got discharged at Lorimer Street just minutes later due to a mechanical failure. Fun morning. I did notice that the LCD is quite low-res. I wonder if it is the panel itself or the actual image fed to it.

I just noticed the blue trim as well. Doesn't match anything else in the interior. The surface mount speaker grills also look very cheap, just like the Bombardier R142s. The Kawasaki R142As have integrated speakers, like the R160s. I think since more of the plastic surfaces in the R179 are glossy, it feels much cheaper.

It still annoys me that the digital announcements at 59th street on the IRT Lexington Avenue lines still say "transfer is available to the N Q R W...a free transfer is also available to the F train by walking to the Lexington Avenue-63rd Street station..." It is misleading to customers who want to transfer to the Q for SAS service, but do not know that they also have to walk out of system to where the F train is also located. Since Q service used to also serve this station, it is even more confusing! I thought this would have been updated by now...

Lest we not forgot the August 17' MDBF for the R143's is 68,193 miles, which isn't much better than the R32's 38,186. I wonder if their addition will noticeably improve service, not to mention overcrowding which will happen on the and . That will probably counterbalance any good the R143's would do.
