Why does the (Q) run local on Broadway overnight when the (D) runs express on CPW? Is ridership that high overnight? With the (N) via Montague overnight couldn't you leave the tower unstaffed if the express tracks are left at the bridge and SAS positions?

Think it has to do with the length of the route. The (D) is much longer than the (Q) so to better reliability overnight, it runs express so it doesn't have to merge with the (A) and the (F) in Manhattan like it has to do with the (N)(R) in Brooklyn.

  2. According to the Bulletin it says that r211t cars are prohibited from running on the express tracks and if (C) trains must be rerouted onto the express tracks in case of a service change they must discharge passengers and run NIS. Why is that?

  3. (SIR) service is suspended between Huguenot and Tottenville in both directions because of flooding.

    Alternatives

Limited free shuttle bus service is running between those stations.

Also, consider taking these nearby bus routes:

For service to/from ‌Tottenville‌, take S59 (which also stop at ‌Eltingville‌) or S78 buses (which also stop at ‌St George‌).

For service to/from ‌Pleasant Plains‌ and ‌Prince's Bay, take S55 buses (which also stop at ‌Huguenot).

Funny this is that the S55 doesn’t run at all at this hour and the S59 stopped running to Tottenville several hours ago.

    What happens after the investigation?

Most likely scrapped due to its age. If the car was younger and not part of a fleet that is in the process of retirement it would most likely be renumbered and returned to service after any repairs if necessary.

  5. You may wait longer for an (F) train in both directions.

We're running fewer (F)trains because non-MTA agency is conducting work near Jamaica-179 St that is delaying our crews when they turn trains around at that station.

Is it just me or does it sound like that non-MTA agency shouldn’t be in the station (unless it’s some sort of field work)? Also it seems like (F) trains are running every 15 minutes at the moment due to this.

    - Uber Ones: 7396-7400 with 7917 / 7551-7555 and 7431-7440 with 7921

I always find it ironic when a transit company has ads for another mode of transport like Uber or even car ads. My college town has buses fully wrapped advertising a dealership for example. I know that the (MTA) gets paid for these ads but it’s funny to think that the ad is indirectly saying, “Don’t take this train, take an Uber instead”.

they need to stop stalling and qualify more crews for them

The crews don’t want to get qualified on them. Gonna be a lot of union negotiations before qualifications speed up.

But at some point it’s gonna be either get qualified or leave. The r46s need to be replaced ASAP.

Honestly I've never had problems with the (1) and (6) on weekends; they don't seem to get very crowded and even if trains ran only ran every 6 minutes they were pretty consistent. I'm glad they're increasing service, but I wonder why they choose the (1) and (6).

I feel like it’s to have more A division locals. Right now 7th and Lex exp has 12.5tph while the locals only have 7.5tph. Bumping it up to 10tph would be beneficial. Also the (1) and (6) don’t really interline with other routes (save service changers) so it’s easier to increase service.

The worst weekend offenders always seem to be heavily interlined B-Division trains where individual services become really spotty. I've had so many weekend experiences where I've had to wait like 20+ minutes for an (R) train which is cruel to QBLVD local riders. I wish more focus would be placed on those lines.

The dreaded 12 minute headways which can easily become 15 or 20+ if something goes wrong. Hopefully when CBTC work is finished the (MTA) can make all of those lines run every 8-10 minutes at least on the weekends.

Today around 6 PM, I got to experience a rare event, it happened on the (7) train, 90th street station, the train overshot the station, the conductor had to open the doors manually on each car to let passengers out, I wonder if it’s related with CBTC or just the TO accidentally over shooting the station

Surprised they opened the door. Usually they are told to skip the station.

I wonder if that’ll be the order for the Nova depots. Makes sense with the uniformity.

Nova is closing in the US in early 2025 so while some nova buses might be delivered, much of nova depots would have to convert to NF or GILLIG.

TBH it doesn’t make sense to order anymore Nova buses since they are leaving the US soon.
