  1. Fill out another one. If there’s any discrepancies they’ll have you fix it. When I did my final processing for Conductor I had to fill out that damn application again and the lady just had me write in the correct dates. It wasn’t a big deal.
  2. Yup. I got called for the class just a few days after picking vacation 😭😭😭
  3. Yeah, once we’re done I can call the crew office and they’ll work out with me when I can make up that week
  4. I picked the first week of January thinking there’s no way there’d be a class during the holidays… and well, now it’s gone lmao!!
  5. Oh wow, Ms. Vargas retired. I didn’t hear. I’m not sure what number we go up to in the current class, but if you went in for pre employment on 11/26 then you may possibly get called for medical mid February or so. You’re definitely gonna have to get another drug test done as well. Seems they’re just calling in leather groups so the processing and class availability is taking a bit more time.
  6. There’s no interview. You’ll get called in for final processing. Biggest thing they’ll ask is if you have any traffic violations that haven’t been paid off
  7. So far so good. Picked divisions and now we’re going over standard stuff
  8. 12/25 is technically our first day. So we’re not starting on a RDO because we go in on the 26th. The work week in transit starts on Sunday. For now we have Sunday/Saturday as RDO’s. It may seem confusing at first, but the new pick always start on a Sunday and many of us don’t have it as an RDO. My initial induction was June 3rd 2018 for conductor but we actually started in class June 4th. Be prepared because learning Transit is like a new language and it’s nothing like a regular job.
  9. The initial email for orientation had the wrong date. That’s it. The paperwork with our schedule is correct. Show up 7am sharp to PS 248 on Monday. I’ll see you folks there and looking forward to putting some faces to these names lol
  10. Show up on Monday to PS 248. Monday is the recognized day for Christmas since it falls on a Sunday. The works schedule is even a Sunday schedule. For that reason most employees at 130 Livingston won’t be in the office. That’s where orientation was held before COVID. Now it’s remote.
  11. You’re fifth in line for that district. Your tour and RDO’s will not change like on XX. You’ll work a different job daily. If you’re on board you can be sent anywhere in the B
  12. They also tend to keep you closer to home on XL. As a conductor in the A division I’ve picked XL west and they’ve mostly kept me on the 7 because I live in Queens.
  13. B5 305 is the job number itself. You’re basically the 5th person on the list for that specific district.
  14. It depends on the need at the time. When I was going for conductor they got about halfway through the induction group with people choosing what they wanted and then the rest of us were put in the A. The A needed conductors so bad that the class the month before us has some groups drafted from the B into the A. So it can change even in the middle of school car.
  15. Pre employment? If so the whole process could take three months or more. I did my first drug test 9/6 and didn’t get called for medical until Nov 23. My file number is 51XX
  16. Ok, so, yes first day is Ps 248 in Brooklyn. Get there on time, at 7am. They’re gonna explain what Transit life is like that first day. Give out the books and bulletins etc. maybe get tools… second day is Zoom and then the rest of the week we will be going back to PS 248. We’ll be picking, or getting picked, for the Division we want to work, A division number lines B Division letter lines. From there we’ll be split into our smaller class groups and then be governed by the TSS where to meet up after that first week. I believe they hand out a schedule, but I’m not 100% on that.
  17. When I was sworn in for conductor I had to raise my hand and stuff, but they probably read you what they told me as well. As long as you signed that paper acknowledging the duties you’d have to uphold, that’s the swear in process. They were very informal with me since I already work here, so current experience is gonna differ from those of you fresh off the street.
  18. You can if you want to, it just explains all the benefits and stuff. You can also just download the pdf’s on your tablet so you can look along with them during the zoom meeting. Orientation isn’t done in person anymore since COVID.
  19. Congratulations! Looking forward to meeting you in class! Let’s get this!
