I made a transfer with my half fare card but the noise made a boop instead of the regular “beeep” however, the screen said transfer ok. What does that mean?

I I made a transfer with my half fare card this morning, the screen said transfer ok but the noise was a boop instead of a beep. Is that normal?

Yall i've been wandering about this for a long time. I have a half fare card and i need to take 2 buses to school. So after i dip my card on the first bus, do i have to ask for a separate transfer or is the transfer on my card?
