So, there's no news yet on the long-awaited arrival of 3070-73 AFAIK.  Maybe the 5-packs will be here first.  Maybe no one knows:unsure:

The R-179 burn-in train for first week of April will be 3222-29.

3010-19 has officially graduated from New Car Acceptance, warranties aside.  It only took 2½ years...

It seems it just got delivered, according to what I’m hearing. @m2fwannabe

I won’t feel surprise if they decide to take all the r179 away from ENY since JZ won’t get cbtc in the next ten years according their plan. And if that happened, we gotta see r32 r42 r143 and r160 running on JZ again.

32s and 42s would be retired by then.

Wondering what they’re gonna do with with surplus on R46 and R32 on the (A)(C) lines

R46s will probably start popping up more on the  C as the 10 car R179s come in, and R46s will likely replace most R32s on the A and C. It’ll eventually reach a point where they have R32s sitting in the yard and trying not to run them— to prepare for scrap.

We're looking for 3230-33 to come in this week (ends March 29).  Heads up at 207 & Pitkin.

Also rooting for the acceptance of 3214-21 sometime soon & the start of road testing for 3222-29.  Heads up on the (C).

    Anything on 3070-3073?

Is 318 cars now instead of 316 cars.

Its not 318 cars — yet. Andy Byford only confirmed that the order will be extended by *at least* 2 cars, meaning it could be over 318 cars. However, 318 is looking extremely likely at the moment.

So basically, 3010-3019 is very close to entering service now that's it's doing simulated stop testing.

The speculation can finally end and this set will finally be ready for service after almost two and a half years of testing. Unless I'm mistaken and it's doing some other kind of testing...

I’m pretty sure it is simulated stop testing. Based on what I observed from the J and C R179 simulated stop testing, it’ll be anywhere from 20 to 35 days before it enters passenger service. To be clear, I observed set 3058-3065 for the J, and 3150-3157 for the C.

Now that you bring that up, I wonder if (MTA) is still going through with that. (For 34th Street-Penn Station for both the (1)(2)(3) and (A)(C)(E)) Also, I hope you’re not mixing up ESI with overall Station Rehabilitations.

No, I’m not mixing it up. Both 34th Streets are definitely part of ESI package 4. And yes they are going through with it, the renovations are currently happening as the stations remain open.

Well folks, we now have a second R-42 train laid up at Pitkin.  Involved are 4788/89, 4794/95, 4796/97, 4820/21, not in order.

There were still three 8-car consists in the (J)(Z) cycle for Friday, January 25.

Still 20 R-160A-1's at 207 Street for (C) (for now).

Honestly, is there any reason for the R42s in Pitkin to go back to the J/Z lines? If the J/Z will only continue to get cars until the R179 5 car sets start coming in, wouldn’t it make more sense for the R42s to just go in service on the A, rather than being sent back to ENY?
