  1. Looks clean... but watch them not get maintained like everything else
  2. Meh, this is more true when the is using R160s. But even then (when the was predominantly R160), the was still faster since it skips way more stations. The REAL problem with the , imo, is its frequency. If the shows up first, then of course it'll be faster.
  3. Right? I was expecting it to be delayed by two or three years.
  4. Despite our history of (mostly) fair elections, when it comes to Trump and the year 2020, the outcome is uncertain even though there's an electoral winner. Definitely some "woke" right-winger propaganda--these fools were "awakened" by Trump and can't believe that he's gone, still keeping up their Trump 2020 flags and putting them in new (and even public) places even though Biden is the projected winner. Alas, back to transit...
  5. Looks like the dude completely got away with it, though (at least, a successful free ride, assuming he hasn't been arrested... yet).
  6. And I think there is an obvious disconnect between my attitude and the interpretation of others in this forum. It would obviously be very nice to have a modern system that works well and there is very obviously a lack of upgrading right now considering the drastic cuts and delays from COVID. I'm not dumb. All I was saying is that it would very obviously be nice to have new things, and I was thinking about when we were planned to have said things, but we obviously can't have them now. Count how many times I used the word "obvious." Maybe there are some transit fans that are thinking how you're describing but I'm not one of them.
  7. I like the idea of connecting to the Rockaways considering it will mostly be used for Queens-Manhattan travel but I might prefer a direct North-South Queens line.
  8. I am practically dying for the R211s to come. The looked like it was on track to do well--then, COVID 😕
  9. Well, after a year, I suppose my question was finally answered.
  10. Ok? Isn't the point of bus routes to change to account for shifting demographics? I agree it may be unpredictable, but when you have a bus go on a street that constantly experiences traffic, also travel down to some neighborhood far away, the people in that neighborhood will suffer because of it. As for your last two points, I generally agree--you could argue, "what is the point of a split when you have short turns?" but unless a lot of people on the route are actually traveling end-to-end (or at least, a lot of people are traveling in between the proposed split point) it might not make sense to constantly rely on short turns. Others have pointed out that the B6 may not be that in need of a split, however, to which I'll give them credit. And you're right that there is no easy way to terminate at the junction given what is already going on there (with terminating).
  11. Prove to us, algorithmically (with concrete evidence), that a homeless person started the fire.
  12. Yes, and it is necessary because a) different demographics are being served on the sides west and east of the junction b) bunching can be reduced c) the same bph is not necessary on both sides west and east of the junction
  13. Agreed. I propose one split being 95 St-Flatbush and the other Newkirk -Brownsville
  14. I have no idea what you're talking about. I said the B6 would be split at the junction, therefore there would be local service on both sides (west and east of the junction) with a connection the at Ave J.
  15. I think both the B6 (local) and B8 should be split, with the split point for both of them at around Brooklyn College. The B6 LTD would become the B6-SBS and would not be split. Thoughts?
  16. Don't forget, the funding must be approved by Congress too (currently stalled by Senate Republicans).
  17. I definitely wouldn't trust students with student metrocards during a pandemic... if anything, they'd feel practically obligated to use them even if they don't have to go to school. Do I think they should still keep them? Yes, but I don't know about supplying them for everyone if the majority of students are going to be staying home.
  18. At least students and parents have the option. Something tells me though, that some of them are bound to close again pretty soon...
  19. Come on with this BS... we've all answered your questions hundreds of times already!
  20. via the Montague Tunnel, no... there's no reason to unless after Phase 4, the job market in the general area of Seaport increases drastically, but as of now, Midtown is the main hub, so it would be more ideal to have a Manhattan Bridge connection. That being said, however, this would also mean that either Broadway/6 Av service on the bridge would have to be replaced, and there is no easy way to do that without extensive construction. I would just not let the (or whatever) get caught up on 4 Av... building a connection to the Fulton Lcl tracks would be beneficial to riders however and it would help clear up that merge on Fulton. Hopefully, there will also be a seamless cross-platform transfer at Grand St.
