Mnrr and lirr are two separate commuter rails. One may not effect the other. There was a hiring freeze for non essential employees. Im not sure what car repairman is classified as, you can watch the mta board on youtube and they often bring up hiring and freezes mind you the videos are usually 2 hours long.
Took the track worker exam on 3/8/19 after applying in april of 2018, completed the background check by sterling and the report says clear. Havent heard from anyone.
Just wait till they completey cover it, they left space in between the tracks of west side for possible cement peers to be built for building above and that exactly whats going to happen.

Im currently doing the background check and submitting tax documents etx... i applied in april of 2018. I was told the next step is a formal interview, physical ability, medical, drug test.
Didnt hear anything about any more testing other than the 90 day probation period.

When was the last contract? Do you guys forsee a salary hike in the future? Base pay is 20.66 i know that is considerably low compared to LIRR
