Why don't the and trains announce the B15 JFK Bus transfer at Flushing Av? Is this because the connects with the Jamaica AirTrain?

For a six month closure, it's probably more trouble than its worth to bring the back, but it is an interesting case study. Especially for future outages... Has alternate trains to Forest Hills been seriously considerded at length? This seems like the no-brainer deal here. The is prone to screw ups, especially when solo on QBL, as we all know... If you bring back the , it'd be shortsighted NOT to run it to Brooklyn (Church/18th Av/Kings Hwy). If you scheduled the and properly, you could probably squeeze some more trains as well...

Why not bring back the ? I could see it being feasible provided you scale back the and (via 53rd St) to 5 minute frequencies each. You would have to take off some express trains to make room for the locals (the would have to run no more than every 9-10 minutes) but ultimately, this would be more of a redistribution of service than anything else. Any thoughts?

Were they using 96th/2nd at all to turn extra trains? I didn't see any rare reroutes over 2nd Avenue.

C/R initially had the train signed up to 168th St, but switched the program to 145th St after a few stops. The announcements themselves were glitched, with the train announcing itself as "Manhattan bound" the entire time. Interesting catch.

There was a northbound train reversing out of 72nd Street. I think both the northbound local and express switchers at 96th Street heading northbound are broken.

Why does the skip Cypress Hills? I know that ridership there is low, but the has to crawl through the station because of the timers on the S curve anyway. Why have passengers wait 8-10 minutes when the time saved by skipping the stop is negligible?

Right, the would need to run on the express track if you had the and merging onto the 8th Avenue local track at West 4th Street. Spring Street would only be served by the if you kept the on the express track to avoid that merge. Their plan is starting to make a lot more sense with the Train G.O.

So you would have the terminate at Delancey Street and have the run on the Line after West 4th Street? Seems like a scheduling hassle for crews by making the route miles longer.

During the Rutgers Tunnel Shutdown on the weekends, why are and Trains swapping roles at Roosevelt Avenue instead of West 4th Street? Is it to offer train customers an easier transfer to the at 51st Street for LES service?

As seen with the Train shutdown, it seems that piecemeal fixes and half baked attempts at 'state of the art' projects is the most NYC can expect for in terms of transportation investment. All unilaterally decided by the governor, it seems as though he would rather choose the easier route and claim he got the project done rather than opt for one that would benefit more people in the long run but take longer to approve and build.

Wasn't the cut back to 86th Street back when they reconstructed Stillwell Av in the 2000's? Must be frustrating for recurring Sea Beach riders to have to deal with this again albeit for a different issue this time.

Hi, I'm new and I hope this is the right place for this. I regularly use the CPW Local and was disappointed how the MTA handled delays in Train service. According to their website, Manhattan bound trains were held at Avenue M for a bit so clearly they were late once they reached Manhattan. The MTA had all uptown (B)'s run express around 3:30 amd this was quite frustrating to witness because that only left the on it's 9 minute interval. This was very frustrating because I witnessed two trains, an and a pass me by at 72nd Street. I apologize for the rant but I just don't understand why the MTA couldn't send an or local as none of them were affected by the delay. This could be a different story on the weekend but this was at the start of rush hour. Tl;dr: Trains were severely delayed in Brooklyn so they all went express on CPW leaving the by itself at the start of rush hour.
