  1. I suppose one benefit of this is that it could act as a Queens-Bronx connecter of some sorts? If this is purely fictional, then might as well kinda run it down to jamaica from flushing similar to a q44 type route since extending it out to a transit desert might cause a lot people to transfer to a train that actually goes to midtown at flushing main st. Extensions east in this fictional map should be served by trains that go to midtown. Edit: also fix your stop spacing, some stops don't need to be so close and I don't think express service (if thats what the white circles indicate) is necesssary.
  2. And it could be a better proposal by accepting feedback ;). No seriously i feel like thats the point of forums: to introduce, critque, and develop ideas. i dont necessarily see the logic of the argument of "its just a proposal" here. Perhaps for future proposals include more detail on the routes like if you're gonna add any switches or something cause i don't understand the routing and transfers you've proposed. It'll be easier to flesh out, better design these proposals, and actually learn something by doing these because I mean, it would be nice to figure out how we could plan a subway to staten island.
  3. Ah ok I didn't see that lmao I was just looking at the map. That is a much better idea than my counterproposal.
  4. My apologies, I forgot to account for yard access in my last comment. If thats an issue, then perhaps just keep your map the same but have go via 63rd street and via Broadway express and potentially consider the swap mentioned above.
  5. Instead of having three services down the 60th street tunnel and Broadway local, I think it would be more efficient to have a QBL train down 63rd. Perhaps have both broadway express trains head towards 63rd street with the on queens boulevard local and the on Astoria. If you wanna fully deinterline, you could even switch the M and F north of Rockefeller so that all locals (the and in this case) go via 63rd (The only flaw with this part is that it cuts off local service from Queens Plaza and if thats a concern then we could do without the swap)
  6. These all seem interesting but I'm not sure I understand the rationale behind some of these(aside from the F express). A lot of these seem to use whatever switches are available to complicate service or maybe I'm just not seeing it. What benefits did you have in mind?
  7. While we're back on the topic of optimizing infrastructure, how's this proposal for re configuring the Myrtle Junction? I drew inspirations from various ideas online but idk if this has been proposed like this
  8. Yeah I'd agree that the G is better off under northern instead of under roosevelt as the original proposal stated. And if people really want Crosstown-21st Street, they could use that one guys proposals to incorporate the crosstown (X). The F is running via Fulton Lcl is interesting, but whats serving the Culver? and unless you're proposing an expensive connection to the Hoyt-Schermerhorn lcl tracks or some deep flying junction below hoyt, this change might force to A/C/F to run at lower frequencies. Also, what's your motivation behind the F/E swap in Jamaica?
  9. Exactly. Imagine if you were getting on at Flushing - Main St or Howard Beach lol. I miss Byford even more now since he would've probably asked for the station with the defective machines or apologized and talked about how they're trying to push through with OMNY to reassure riders
  10. And to keep with the theme of spacing out stops, i think there should be two stops on this new jamaica elevated: Arlington Avenue and Cypress Hills - Highland Blvd (current cypress hills station renamed to crescent street since highland blvd is closer to central cypress hills making it a more logical name)
  11. I am very much in support for a plan like this and a full rebuild like you mentioned but what would be the best way to do a rebuild tho? Do it in sections with shuttle buses to replace the gap?
  12. How would you reconfigure the Myrtle Junction? The space seems pretty tight.
  13. Interesting ideas but you cant cut the R from Bay Ridge since a good of amount of riders would want to travel to midtown (and the J is already pretty long) but some other service to supplement the 4th avenue local would be helpful.
  14. Does anyone know what the trunk lines of manhattan are from highest ridership to lowest ridership?
