  1. Wow, I just thought of something crazy. What if the train ran to Staten Island via the unfinished Staten Island tunnel under Owl's Head Park southwest of 59th Street? The train will then run on the abandoned North Shore Branch. I see the Interborough Express as an opportunity to replace some sections of the BMT Sea Beach line and possibly the entire Staten Island Railway network.
  2. Maybe if Court St wasn't a museum, then the Fulton St local would have its own letter-probably called the train or something similar.
  3. The only way I can see trains going to Lefferts Blvd is if trains run local on Fulton St in both directions. Passengers will backlash against the removal of express service.
  4. I'm almost done with my fantasy NYC subway map. You may not like it, but I do have multiple subway lines that run through Staten Island, Northeast Queens, and Southeast Queens. I use Google maps to create my fantasy maps.
  5. Here's proof that the MTA will be using the Montague St tunnels instead of constructing 2 new tunnels which I'm afraid is going to happen. https://new.mta.info/20YN "W line extension to Red Hook Extending the line from Whitehall St. in Manhattan through the Montague Street Tunnel to Red Hook, Brooklyn, including new stations at Columbia Waterfront (Columbia and Kane streets.), Atlantic Basin (Van Brunt and Verona streets), and Red Hook (Lorraine and Hicks streets), as well as a possible continuation to the existing station at 4th Ave-9th St."
  6. In order to construct the Red Hook subway line, I highly recommend the MTA to construct 2 new East River tunnels underneath the existing Montague Street tunnels or alongside them. In order to do that, the MTA must start by using the provisions which are located just south of the Whitehall St station. These provisions can then be used as an extension of the current train. However, the MTA is planning on using the Montague St tubes for the train extension instead of constructing new ones which will prevent Nassau St service from accessing the Montague St tunnels ever again unless the MTA want 3 trains on 1 track which is a terrible idea because it will cause longer waiting times and over capacity just like the current 59th St tubes. Based on my personal experience, I had to wait 20 minutes for a Queens bound train at the Lexington Av-59th St on a weekday and it was ridiculous which is why I'm against using the Montague St tunnels. Also, for those who aren't familiar with the plan, the BMT Red Hook subway line will be running underneath the streets of Brooklyn at Columbia Place, Columbia Street, Van Brunt Street, Wolcott Street, Lorraine Street, and 9th Street.
  7. The MTA should buy the former LIRR Rockaway Beach Branch for subway service because you already have the Crosstown connection and the 60th St connection . The 63rd St connection , however, was installed at a later date due to the 63rd St line ending at 21st- Queensbridge. What I would do to bring back subway service on the Rockaway Beach Branch is by sending the via 63rd St, and the via 53rd St. That way you won't have , , and trains merging in front of each other as much. I plan on having the run to Forest Hills-71st Av, and the to Far Rockaway-Mott Av.
  8. I think the R should go to red hook since it's already on Queens Blvd and Queens Blvd may also have the new Rockaway Beach Branch connection making the existing R line even longer.
  9. I can't imagine how a transfer from the new red hook subway line would look like from the existing stations overground and underground.
  10. For the W extension, they'll probably use the bellmouth provisions at Whitehall which is insane because I thought they were never gonna be used in any way.

  12. If you want a new Williamsburg line, just use the provisions at Canal St on the 8th Avenue line. From there, you'd be able to create a new Worth St-East Broadway crosstown line.
  13. No, the train will continue to be orange. However, the reason why it needs to be reconstructed is because the bellmouth at Essex St is in the way of my train plans. During the reconstruction of the Northbound bellmouth at Chrystie St, the orange will be terminating at 2nd Avenue.
  14. The would be replaced by the (K). The would be an additional 8th Avenue express service along with the (A). The would run from Norwood 205th St, to Euclid Avenue via Fulton St local. The and will continue to run on the Broadway Brooklyn elevated, except they will be using the express tracks all the way from Chambers St to Essex St, where it would then run on the Williamsburg Bridge. The reconstruction of the Chrystie St connection is required. If you didn't know, there are an extra set of tracks and platforms on Nassau St that aren't used for passenger service. Instead of wasting money on a new set of tunnels and track, I decided to use the existing ones at Canal St, Bowery, and Chambers St. The would terminate at Chambers St on the express tracks, while the would continue to use the local tracks. In addition, a new side platform would need to be built at Essex St in order for the to meet up with the at Havemeyer St.
  15. I made an interesting subway line on google maps that I put together. I called it the IND/BMT Northeast Queens Crosstown line. This subway line would consist of 4 tracks from Havemeyer St/South 4th St in Brooklyn, to Parsons Blvd/Horace Harding Expressway in Queens. Under my plans, the C train will run local at all times, while the J train will run express at all times. If you're wondering how Utica Avenue will be serviced, then it'll be serviced by the 2 train. The reason I bought that up is because there were plans for both the IND and BMT to serve Utica Avenue as well. If you have any questions regarding this proposal, just hit me up and I'll be very happy to answer them. Here is the link to my map: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=17csrUbRj6083etn7Jgx88wljljtpK5o&usp=sharing
  16. The Essex St station on the BMT Nassau St line was supposed to have 2 side platforms, and 1 island platform similar to the Atlantic Av station on the IRT Eastern Parkway line. Essentially, this would have made the BMT Nassau St line a 4 track mainline. The 2 inner tracks were to be used by trains that ran on the BMT Broadway-Brooklyn line. Unfortunately, no one knows where the outer tracks would have continued on from there. In my opinion, I think the outer tracks were a provision to connect with the unfinished IND South 4th St line. Who knows?
  17. The Broadway local trains would've probably terminated at City Hall on both levels. I'm not sure how 4th Avenue subway service would've looked like without the Broadway local service, but I do know that the Nassau St loop service would continue to run local and express on 4th Avenue via the Manhattan bridge and the Montague St tunnel.
  18. "There was a plan to connect the IND Eighth Avenue Line south of the World Trade Center station to the IND Fulton Street Line Court Street station, which is currently the home of the New York Transit Museum. The stub World Trade Center station was intended to tie into the BMT Broadway Line, as they line up immediately to the east of Ground Zero, with only a few feet separating the northernmost uptown entrance of the Cortlandt Street station and the southernmost entrance to the Chambers Street–World Trade Center/Park Place complex. In order to connect with the now abandoned Court Street station, a new tunnel would be build under the East River using provisions south of the Whitehall Street station. The provision is just after where trains curve out of the Whitehall Street station going southbound, and there are two very short tunnels sealed with brick walls that were never used. This was a provision for Construction Route #32, or the "Battery Park-East River-Atlantic Avenue" Route, which was never built. Under this proposal, the Montague Tunnel would then be exclusively used by Nassau Loop trains and the new tunnels would be used for Broadway trains. This line would have been used as a DeKalb Avenue Bypass. It would have used the old LIRR Atlantic Tunnel or another street." This could've been today's train service. Unfortunately, the IND had a change of plans in 1939 and decided to have Second Avenue Subway service take over Court St and the Fulton St local. This explains why World Trade Center has no relays tracks. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Kew_Gardens_613/New_York_City_Subway_Track_Layout,_Bellmouths_and_Provisions
  19. The super express line is not fully built even tho it's just three stations on an existing rail line.
  20. We need the R211's ASAP. These 75ft subway cars are a mouse trap.
  21. Remove the and completely. The and will replace them.
  22. This is actually genius. I've never thought of this before. Your best bet is to have this 34th St crosstown line connect with the Franklin Avenue shuttle after Bedford Nostrand Avenues as a local branch of the Brighton line. However, I do not like how you are forced to transfer for the green V train at LIC just to access Queens Blvd. To make things more simple, just have the G run up Queens Blvd with the R. Additionally, the 34th St crosstown line needs to branch off at Greenpoint avenue via a new East River tunnel.
  23. Bringing back the is not a good idea. It would be a copy of the train and both terminals have no relay tracks.
