  1. Even though the aren't scheduled for any form of New Tech from what we know, the signage looks like eye candy. Can't wait to see NTTs on Astoria again during weekends (will definitely help with the sign changing).
  2. It’s stupid that the MTA didn’t consider doing CBTC on the whole of broadway. Broadway, in my opinion, needs CBTC more than Astoria. My take. Carry on.
  3. The , being the , will probably think that both options will be enough to retire a part of the fleet, which will cause an even larger shortage.
  4. You took the words out of my mouth. Jamaica’s displaced R160s would be sent to Coney Island Yard for service to replace the worst preforming R68s. Pitkin would receive the base order for the , Concourse would receive a piece of option 1 for the , Coney would receive a piece of option 1 for the , and Jamaica would receive option two for the and , displacing R160s to the .
  5. This is not worth arguing about. All I’m saying is, Broadway is on priority to get their cars replaced (with R68s)
  6. I know that. I think y’all don’t know the definition of new. New meaning NOT the 46s, new meaning R68s.
  7. If you saw what I said, I said coney would get new cars, new meaning NOT The R46.
  8. Would you mind sending the ridership numbers for each line, or the source
  9. The does not know how to spend their money. It’s a fact. Someone needs to do something here, because NYCTA already gets the lion’s share of funding from the federal government. See, the also has the habit of waiting until cars ARE LITERALLY FALLING APART. It’s getting quite annoying at this point. Just look at Broadway. It’s on life support right now. Just look at the London Underground, they received 200% less funds than the gets, and their subway system is amazing. 3 minute frequencies at times. Electronic bus signs. All of that. I worry for NYC, because 75% of households don’t own a car, and rely on the system daily. If the continues to make these careless f*cking mistakes, then we’re in for a ride.
  10. Recently, I’ve seen multiple dead motors on different sets of r46s on the . This is seriously a problem and by the time coney gets new cars, service will have had to be cut down dramatically because of mass car shortage. The Broadway lines () are now at very high risk. Their trains are falling apart, and they’ll give in and collapse at any moment now. A car shortage is ahead. Also, to all of you railfans & enthusiasts, new cars will be given to the lines that currently have R46s, first. Whether it’s R68s, R160s, or R211s. People are not understanding this. On a side note, this is the order of which lines will get their cars replaced. (NOT fleet assignments). 1. - Base Order 2. - 50% of Option 1 3. Fleet expansion- - 50% of Option 1 Unconfirmed 4. Fleet expansion- - Option Order 2
  11. Honestly, this is what people deserve after surfing trains. I send my condolences to his family and him, but seriously, that was his fault.
  12. Good point. Maybe we can send the via 4th Ave express, as it will be running via West End
  13. Currently, as I’m pretty sure, the plans are to give the the leftover NTTs, if there are any. The , if they’re smart, Will add another option to the r211s to give to the , to put some of the 68s as spares.
  14. With my full deinterlining plans with broadway, you’d have no problem w yard access
  15. With my plans, Broadway Express would receive CBTC first; and is probably priority for CBTC along that trunk. It’d make sense, as I’d send the up to 96th street (as you suggested). I wish they made an express track ( SA Express, SA local) but they didn’t. So my plans changed. Either we axe the or send it to continental, and send the to Astoria. Phase A of deinterlining: The easiest deinterlining would be done by flipping the and ‘s northern terminuses. Phase B of deinterlining: Now that we have the going to Astoria, there’s no need for a second line going there. We can send the to Second Avenue, as SAS can handle 40 TPH at max. The would now run full time express. Phase C of deinterlining: This part is optional, and would lose riders their one seat ride. But, I’m going to share it anyway. via 4th Ave local, to Bay Ridge-95th Street via 4th Ave express, via Sea Beach, to Coney Island via Brighton Express, to Brighton Beach via Brighton Local, to Coney Island via West End, to Coney Island Fleet assignments and TPH: : R211; 15 TPH : R211; 15 TPH : R160; 16 TPH : R160; 16 TPH : R68; 13 TPH : R211; 13 TPH (THIS WOULD BE DONE AFTER BROADWAY EXPRESS GETS THE GREENLIGHT+ R68S ARE PHASED OUT)
