  1. Yeah if you get a date for the medical your in they swear you in on same day as the medical
  2. Keep in mind the drug test is only good for about 30/60 days so they are looking to hire you prob within the next month so if you have to move back keep that in mind best of luck
  3. If you are going in for the drug test they will have you come back around 2 weeks for the medical and final processing on your medical date you will get a start date and get sworn in .. so yes if you are going down for medical you get a start date and it will be in the email with what to bring for your medical
  4. When I was in training the instructors said a class a month until the new year and so far that’s been true so nexT classes will prob be oct , nov , dec, Jan
  5. they just completed the pick on Friday so now they are able to see how many spots still need to be filled I would imagine they start up with the hiring pretty fast
  6. Typically they don’t make it past 3,000 on these lists but things can always change at any time with Covid and
  7. I would think that would still apply cuz you would be a rehire so technically an new hire unless they give you your same seniority number then you would be good
  8. Yeah that was for current city workers now he wants vaccination to be mandatory for all new hires
  9. That seniority list only contains new classes 1&2 so there are an additional 36 new hires that arent counted on that list ( class of July 19 and the august 2nd class ) so that real total should be 1825
  10. For the hiring process your list number for the exam is your seniority list number once you get hired they will give you a new seniority list number and then that’s the number you will go by
  11. The Bronx has a ton of spot to pick from east 180th the Westchester yard and a whole bunch more you should have no prob getting a pick in the Bx
  12. You can use the contacts for the vision test .. also during training they will send a list of available jobs ( aka location , hours , and days off ) and you will go in seniority order and pick one at a time.. if your a class of 25 they will only send 25 jobs so as people start picking there will be less jobs aka the last person gets whatever job is left they don’t put extra jobs on the list
  13. I worked with the new class flagging the other day all of there picks were day jobs
  14. Yeah your spot sounds good I would also stay put and in a few years if you change your mind you can always start back the process
  15. Was speaking to instructor he said they are going to hire another 175 ... and put in classes of 25 about 1 class a month next class starts June 7 and the last class will be going in November so make sure you keep checking your mail and junk/ spam
  16. No you do not notarize the form it says it in one of the instructions. I went today all set for the 3rd good luck guys
  17. No they can’t disqualify you for points as long as your license is still valid. One person had points and a pending ticket they said just plead and pay but he said the ticket carried points so if he plead guilty he would get the points and that would make his license suspended. So they told him to try to get the ticket dismissed with a lawyer or you have to wait till some of the points come off because he couldn’t move forward without it being taken care of.
  18. Yeah if you got the email to come in next week or week after your good to go as long as you pass the medical
  19. Kevin said they were hiring 50 for this class the day I went I saw the sign in for track worker list numbers was from 70-130s so they went through about 60 ppl for 1 day .. I also saw ppl get turned away because of points and pending tickets and a lot of people missed the first email because it went to junk mail.
  20. Well anything can happen with paper work and medical you don’t want to give two week notice and then something go wrong you can always give a verbal notification if you happen to have a good relationship with your employer just make sure you do what’s best for your self and making sure you have employment.
