  1. I believe Market Street will get their PABT routes back as soon as the garage is finished with modifications. Garage has been in the works for about a year or so. The back of the garage is evidence. I'm sure that space being built is to allow for 45 foot cruisers to fit in the maintenance shop when going in for fixing and perhaps allow for larger bus lifts to lift the 45s. Before the modifications, Wayne's 45 foot MCIs as some of you have been at Market Street parked alongside with their D4000s and Nabis outside from time to time and overnight for mechanical repairs
  2. Gotta have a Cat engine Nabi suburban bus since they're ultra rare. Also, is this for the NJ Historic Bus Museum?
  3. They're sending those buses back to Wayne? I guess Fairview is priority number one before Wayne gets all the remaining 9000s and 7100s replaced and perhaps Meadowlands getting a few all white MCIs
  4. The end is near for Wayne and Fairview's remaining 9000 Cat engine cruisers and also Wayne's 7100 series Cats. I wonder if Howell still has them ex-MTA cruisers still running. I haven't been seeing them on tracker for a long minute
  5. I know this is off topic, but NJ Transit like many TAs across the country have played a part in Flxible's history. Flxible will be celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. Here's the article that was posted in Bus Ride magazine about it and information about the Flxible parade in the birth place of Londonville, OH. https://busride.com/flxible-converted-bus-centennial-summit-celebrating-the100th-birthday-of-the-original-flxible-bus/

  7. NJT can't screw this up can they?? You would think they have learned their lesson from the disaster of how they left 100s of fans stranded at the Meadowlands Station during that Super Bowl. It should be an "All hands on deck" with both shuttle bus and extra trains. Pay your workers overtime if need be. This time around, the whole word will be watching
  8. No surprise there. With Hilton having some runs of route 24, some driver(s) from that garage will take an artic on that line. Don't be surprised if you see more artics on that line once the new artics come in from New Flyer in a year or two
  9. Since some of those Wayne 7100 and 9000 series buses are retired, I suspect they'll get more ex-Suburban cruisers. Perhaps the 21260s🤷🏾‍♂️
  10. 8 Bergen Ave 10 (there's been an occasional artic on that line, though the route does need more artics to handle the overcrowding) 24 31 62 ( need to do something about increasing service levels and have more luggage rack buses. Too many luggage rack buses on other routes) 70 ( having artics run all day weekday besides the weekends) 72 ( revert service back to every 20 minutes during the weekday and increase service levels during late evening. Buses are always late and overcrowded) 74 (weekday peak and weekends) 84 (Bergenline Ave. says it all) 88 99 (has seen artics on the route currently) 107 (NJT needs to get with PA for gate assignment change just to have artics run throughout the day and weekends. Currently, only a few inbound artics into NYC and outbound fro the PABT during rush hour) 119 (needs to limit the usage of 40 footers on that line, especially during the weekend and holiday service) 125 ( Has seen artics on the line along with MCI cruisers. One artic has been used throughout the day on non peak weekday, Saturday and possibly Sunday 171 ( hate 40 Nabis on that hourly line. Route does need artics if Market St doesn't get the return of their PABT routes. The route gets crowded during peak period rush hours since it runs every hour, which is stupid. Saturday service could use the artics and most definitely during the holiday season.) 400 ( Maybe the only route in South Jersey from what I've read in past posts that needs artics 703 709 ( NJT needs to take this route back. Overcrowding, lateness and no-shows. ) 712 ( stupid crowded during peak periods and holiday season. Only line on Union Ave) Those are my suggestions routes that either need artics or additional artics
  11. Do they have 21280? I've seen that bus twice on routes 190 and 161 respectively
  12. So long to hearing the Jake Brake off those D4000s. At least now some Wayne's 20000 year model cruisers and also 17785 have developed deep groan personality to them. They're getting the work. Don't know about the other garages of their MCIs though. I'm still amazed that Oradell has kept their 22000 MCIs looking clean from the exterior
  13. By the way, NJT may need to collaborate with the city of Jersey City to fix it's street patterns on certain intersections that are either narrow or tight turns if they want artics on that line. The 163 route which makes that 45 or so degree turn I want to say Paterson-Plank road, the town made sure to move the white line further back to allow 45 cruisers of making a clear turn. Before that new turn, it went up to the residential street to get to Boulevard. I guess there were many complaints made by the residents to have those cruisers stay on the main road than to enter there one-way street
  14. Well, NJT seems to only add a few 80S runs to and from Society Hill. Remember, that route during peak period under A&C before COVID hit had at least 10 buses running that line during the weekday. Now it seems reduced I'm guessing to 4 to 5 buses. Bergen Ave is the same as well. Runs are reduced, therefore you might see six to eight buses during peak period. Weekends are a total different story. Route 9 Newport Mall only has one bus instead of two during the weekend is a prime example. I wish NJT would extend service hours on the 80 route until 1:45a in that area of Westside because the commuters coming from New York off Path. Now with the routes formerly operated by O.N.E we can see a vast reduction in routes 24 and certainly the 31 because I'm sure it's because of not having the man power. I could remember the 31 alone had close to 20 buses operating on S. Orange Ave. Now it's 10 or less
  15. I believe the older Nabis they'll scrap will be kinda like a tradeoff for the new XD60s. For example, Meadowlands current Nabi suburbans may all be replaced by XD60s. Most of not some of Hilton's older Nabi transit Model will be replaced by the XD60s so to have routes 1, 13, 25,39 and 70 to have a full dosage of XD60s during the entire day. Don't rule out seeing some XD60s on other routes that are normally 40 foot bus routes. If NJT could change the gate assignment at the PABT for the 107, then you could possibly have some artics run that route during the day as well. Fairview could have most of their Nabi suburbans replaced by new XD60s as well. I would like to see route 80 have artics on that line all day because the Westside Avenue and Society Hill area is just booming with higher ridership. Notice I didn't mention route 87, which they could use the artics too. Most of us know that route has many tight turns on side streets. Jersey City may have to adjust certain areas of the street scape for the 87 route to accompany artics. Of course Greenville is a small garage, I've been saying for years that NJ Transit should have invested in buying property or acres of land in Jersey City, in particular off route 440 to build a bigger garage. Jersey City's population is rising and will soon if not by next year overtake Newark into becoming the largest city population wise in New Jersey. With all these luxury condos and apartments being built and some New Yorkers moving into Jersey City, NJT needs to be ready of handling such large crowds on their bus lines and light rail
  16. That's a crazy system. Selling your own lines to a private carrier because either you can't or unwilling to operate them yourselves.🤨
  17. Any idea on what's going on with the new "Megabus Complex", aka Ridgefield Park Bus Facility? Where does that project stand right now?
  18. It's certainly possible. Like DeCamp, they haven't received any COVID emergency funds. That's why you see service cuts, discontinued routes or service and closures of some bus companies. NJT has no choice but to have a plan in place when the inevitable happens.
  19. Wooow....then again, why should we not be surprised. The writing was on the wall anyway, it's just a matter of when.Them IBOAs in Hudson county are now a thing of the past. Broadway bus you're up next. Hope you survive in the long run though. NJ Transit should think about buying that garage that A&C Bus has. We all know that NJ Transit needs additional space or a new bus garage badly near West Side Ave off of Route 440. I don't know why perhaps they haven't thought of it because Jersey City is booming and will soon overtake Newark as far as being the largest city population wise in the state. I'm sure gonna miss how clean AC Corp keeps the exterior of there buses clean and sharp and having different advertisement than NJ Transit
  20. Don't forget you have Eldorado and BYD here. Eldorado is on an upswing in California with it's CNG 40'Axcess bus.
  21. Them new 2023 artics can't get here soon enough for runs on the 119. Also, maybe NJT ought to create a 119X Express by adding some select express trips bypassing stops on Central Ave. I'm sure they're heavy loads from Bayonne to Journal Square in that stretch
