  1. When you get in for medical and they have you turn in the paperwork they will ask you if you have any pending tickets. If you do, no matter if you're waiting for a court date or yoy dispute the fact that you did anything wrong, they will ask you to go and pay them right then or leave the medical appointment entirely. I've seen this happen to people and they try to plead their case but it will fall on deaf ears.
  2. So glad to hear there are still people being brought in for this position. I've been set back by family obligations and couldn't take the job after clearing a hold months ago. List number 34xx
  3. If you have a college degree they will take that instead. You'd need to contact your old high school, if it still exists (mine doesn't), to ask them about getting another. Otherwise, you can contact the board of education. They do not want copies of documents, only originals.
  4. You can't get one at any point today? If you can't get one today, show up tomorrow, go upstairs and put in your paperwork. Then tell them you forgot to get the money order and you should be able to run out to the nearest post office to get one. The wait for medical is long so you should have time to dash out and come back. Or, you could wait for medical to be done and if you pass it, they'll send you for fingerprints. You could tell the fingerprint folks that you don't have the money order and they'll tell you to go get one if there is still time left in the day. I'd get one today even if I had to ask someone to go get one for me and pay them back.
  5. Anyone know of a Conductor class starting before the end of July?
  6. It shouldn't be a problem. If you're on medication then you will list it when they ask and that's it.
  7. There are only lab techs there on Saturdays so no one is going to take your documents. You'll give all that stuff to them on a weekday
  8. You're right. The doctor will have to go through the cpap data in order to write you a letter. You'll also need to provide the cpap data as well as the letter to MTA.
  9. I would still get the money order on the chance you aren't placed on medical hold. Also, the hold may not last months, depending on your situation. Get one from the post office; they don't expire.
  10. Email them again. Provide your last name, last 4 digits of your SSN, Exam #, list # and a brief statement requesting to have your name restored back to the Conductor list.
  11. In the email response I got from LMACustomerService@dcas.nyc.gov after requesting my list number be restored I was told 1 - 14 days. On the 15th day I emailed them again.
  12. They just did the drug test since it is Saturday and the clerical office staff is not in on the weekends. The lab is open because of randoms and incidents I believe. They wouldn't receive your documents and make copies because that isn't what they do. You'll probably have to go in another day for the documents but I am not 100% sure. Someone else will have surely been in on the weekend for drug testing and could give their experience.
  13. If you're overweight and/or have a large neck (17 or larger I believe).
  14. You are not disqualified. You will be placed on medical hold if they suspect you may have sleep apnea. They will ask you to do a sleep study and you will either have sleep apnea or not. If you have it they will want you to get a machine and be on that machine for 30 days and have a doctor give you a letter stating that you are using the machine and that it is benefiting you and your condition. I am currently on medical hold for sleep apnea. It has been a long long road. Currently waiting to be reinstated to the list so I can clear the hold. It will just take some patience on your part and hope you get things done quicker than I have.
  15. You won't need a driver's license for conductor but you will need a valid state issued ID. Non-Driver's is fine.
  16. Try emailing Olha.Nyahay@nyct.com and/or Michelle.Rivera-Vargas@nyct.com and explain everything. Be sure to include your name, exam number, list number, date you were schedule to come in, that you emailed and called and why you couldn't make it. Also tell them you still want the job and that you would be able to come in when physically ready.
  17. I have done medical...twice so far. I've done the drug test and medical twice. Still on medical hold. First time U was placed on hold to do sleep apnea testing. The second time was because they wanted 30 days of readings. U have those readings now after a months long odyssey of getting tested, going back for the second part of sleep testing. Waiting for insurance to approve all of that as well as there being a shortage of cpap machines that I had no idea about. Had to reinstate my name back to the list (for conductor) and now waiting for that to be done. Then I will have to do the drug test again and hopefully clear the hold this time. You're halfway there with already having a machine. You'll just get the 28 days together after they put you on hold and go back to clear it. I would still bring your most recent 30 days of readouts (this depends on when you get asked in for medical) just to have it to show. Doesn't mean they will accept it, but it's worth a shot.
  18. Then do not get anything from your doctor(s) until after your medical appointment (provided you pass the drug test AND they get to your list number) and are placed on medical hold.
  19. Type 1 or Type 2? There is a questionnaire you will complete before the medical portion of pre-employment that will ask you to list all ailments and current medications. I'm guessing you're doing the drug testing portion of pre-employment this coming Thursday. Just set up an appointment with your doctor fairly soon if you feel there are things you're afraid of holding up the process. If you're overweight and have a large neck you will be placed on medical hold and asked to do a sleep study to test for sleep apnea. If you already have sleep apnea and use a machine for it then get a letter (and the last month+ of your data readouts if you can) and bring that with you once you're called for medical. Just be proactive about things.
  20. I have been up to 180 Livingston four times so far. The first couple of times I wore business casual but saw people there in everything from business suits to dirty work clothing. The third time I wore jeans. The last time I wore sweats. In my experience it doesn't even matter. But the email does ask for business casual.
  21. Pre-employment is two separate days. One is the drug test. You can end up doing multiple drug test days until your number is reached to be called in for medical. Medical is the second pre-employment day of the two. You do not go in for drug test one day and come back the next for medical. They will tell you after the drug test that you may be called anywhere from 3 to 90 days after your drug test. If 90 days passes, you will have to do another drug test (day one) when they call you back for pre-employment.
  22. You don't get a result from them. Your result is the invitation to the medical portion of pre-employment (provided you did not fail the drug test) as long as your list number is low enough to be placed in the x amount of people they can hire for the next class. If your list number is not low enough, then you won't hear from them until they get to your number.
