  1. I'm there with you. I did canvass, pre-employment and medical in August-September last year and have been in medical hold ever since for sleep apnea. I had no idea about the recalls on cpap machines and the shortage on parts until January. I didn't get my machine until February. It took over 2 months for my insurance to authorize the sleep study. Been a long road. I hope once I have my 30 days of data and go back to lift the hold that they won't come back with something else. If they do, then I'll do the whole process over again. At least it's not like they said you have no shot at all and do not come back. I was afraid of them telling me that once my first hold expired.
  2. The OPA is another exam of sorts. You get shown or told scenarios and you have to respond with what you would do if you were a Conductor on duty. As a list number in the 62xx range your name shouldn't need to be reinstated. You just got the letter for OPA so you're still on the list. If you need to reschedule your OPA it should say how on the letter. If it does not, try contacting Olha Nyahay at Olha.Nyahay@nyct.com and also employment operations at RTOEmploymentOperations@nyct.com
  3. Anytime you do pre-employment (drug testing) and you do not get called for medical within 90 days, you have to do it all over again when they contact you again. They canvass tons of people for a limited number of spots in case people, for whatever reason, do not show up. If people with a lower list number than yours fills up a class(es) then you go back to the beginning next time and start the process all over again.
  4. Not 100% sure but leaning to yes. The description of the certification sequence number is the person's spot on the certification list. They have 250 track worker jobs to fill and they requested 9000 names. They received 7923 list numbers. Does not mean 7000+ people are getting a job. Just means the current certified list is long enough for them to get 250 people from. Some people will decline, not respond, fail drug testing or be placed on medical hold and never get off medical hold.
  5. The drug test is done there. You do not have to go out and find a place to get drug tested.
  6. The three different dates are all different certification dates. Pay no mind to dates that have come and gone already. It just means that your list number was one of X amount of list numbers certified for a certain amount of time. Your list number has to be certified first before you can begin the hiring process.
  7. Those are the only people that I have ever gotten a reply from. Also, if you are ever on medical hold and you have the documentation to get the hold removed you need to just got down to 180 Livingston and tell them you are there to remove the hold. You do not need an appointment to remove a medical hold. If you've already contacted DCAS to put your name back on the list, you should just got to 180 Livingston, tomorrow morning if you can, and tell them you were reinstated buy not certified. Maybe they will have you redo your drug test so that you can redo medical.
  8. Try emailing Olha.Nyahay@nyct.com and Michelle.Rivera-Vargas@nyct.com
  9. The drug test is the same day. Fill out the paperwork they emailed you and bring in your original documents from the list in the paperwork. Bring a snack and some water because you could be there for hours and hours.
  10. If this is your first time going then it is not for medical. The whole pre-employment process starts with you receiving the Canvass letter via email. You return that via email and wait. If you are selected then they will bring you in for the first day of pre-employment (Drug Testing). They'll email you some forms to full out and bring with you in the day of your drug test. You'll also need to bring in all original documents like Covid-19 Vaccination Card, SS Card, HS Diploma, Birth Certificate, etc. The email and the forms will have a detailed list of what you have to bring. Once you do all of that and do the drug test you will be called at some point for day 2 of pre-employment (Medical). You will receive another email telling you when to come in and another big firm to fill out and bring with you on the day of your medical appointment. According to others here, your drug test is good for 90 days. They will tell you that you can be called anywhere from 3 to 90 days after your drug test for a medical appointment. Should you not be called within 90 days you will have to do the drug test over again.
  11. The Schoolcar Experience thread found here also has a lot of information you might find useful as well.
  12. You would have to redo the first step (drug test) because it is only valid for 30 days. So since you did it in October and they didn't reach your list number for medical, you'll have to do another drug test. You'll still have to bring in the same forms from the first time and all your original documents (SS card, birth certificate, etc.). They call more names than needed for the first part of pre-employment because some people will fail the drug test and be disqualified. Others won't be interested in the job any long. Others will have unpaid tickets or not have original documents and just plain miss the appointment. Also, people like me who were placed on medical hold will knock higher list numbers back once we clear the hold.
  13. I reached out and was told I do not have to do pre-employment again since I did it in late December. I was also told they are getting candidates together for a class next month. I do not know the date.
  14. I know it is a very long thread but read through it. I know people have posted very useful information that will be extremely helpful.
  15. So I got the email about pre-employment this morning. Shot off an email to some people about my situation being on medical hold already (placed about a month ago) but being asked to do pre-employment again. I don't want to miss an opportunity so I'll do it all over again if needed.
  16. I'm not sure. I'll email Ms. Olha and Ms. Rivera-Vargas to see about what I should do.
  17. Nope. Gotta get 30 days of cpap data back to them. Still waiting to receive my cpap machine.
  18. Just received a phone call to come in for pre-employment on 2/1/2022 but I've already done it and am currently on medical hold. I guess you all should be on the lookout for calls and emails.
  19. The list wasn't established until some time in 2018 which was almost 2 years after the test was administered in 2016. That's what I mean when I say it will take longer to get employable candidates from a new test. So you want to kill the list that has been active for only 4 years (from date of establishment) and start all over with scheduling a new test. They wouldn't physically get people to take the test until some time in 2023 at least. You gotta secure schools or other places to hold the exams. Hire temp proctors to administer it. They do this all the time but it doesn't mean a new test will be given 2 weeks from the end of the previous list. And also, the Conductor list that was established before 6601 was still active for over 6 years from its established date and that was pre-pandemic (buy also included a hiring freeze). I get wanting a new exam so that you can take it and have a chance to get the job though.
  20. I don't know what to tell you. Everytime I've gone up there (4 times so far) they ask if anyone has tickets and if they aren't paid they are told to pay them right there or get out.
  21. Like I'm saying, they will ask you to pay off all tickets if you haven't already beat them in court by the time your appointment date for the drug test comes. Once you get in the building they will eventually ask if you have pending tickets or court cases. You will not proceed unless you pay the tickets on the spot. You will be asked to leave.
  22. Extending it will keep the thousands of people left on the current list eligible to be employed quickly instead of scheduling another exam, having thousands take it, score them all, put together the list, and start all over. You have people who already passed who are just waiting for medical or drug testing as opposed to the 1 to 2 years it will take to do another exam and establish a list and start the hiring process all over again.
  23. How are you doing with the crew shortages? Seems like the job is stressful enough with full staff.
