Very simple basic exam , if you can read , you will definitely pass. The material is right in front of you , you just mainly have to answer questions , based on what’s presented to you. Sorta like when you in grade school , and you had to read a passage and answer questions based on what you read. You also have to read labels and answer questions based on that too, Just read carefully & good luck .

When applying for the job do they ask for a copy of your drivers license then , or do they ask you for it during the testing phase. I would really like to apply but don’t have my license yet , but I’m working on it

Any updates for anyone that took the exam October or later, did you get contacted for an interview as yet?

Kinda in the same position as you, I also got invited Wednesday and I would like to attend but I’m afraid if I show up without it they will turn me away, I was thinking of hurrying up and getting my license real quick but the event is on Thursday so idk how that’s gonna work . I may still attend

Okay,will do. I just wanna be as prepared as possible been applying for MNR conductor since 2019 and never got a hit until now, so I really don’t wanna mess this up! Thanks again & Good luck in your journey as Locomotive engineer .

That was very quick, I took the test last week Wednesday , got the email I passed on Thursday, so that process was rather fast. What did you think of the interview? Any tips that you’re willing to share is helpful . Are you in class already? Sorry for all the questions , & thank you for taking the time out to reply & share information, I appreciate it.

Okay good , I got a little scared I’ve applied for Metro North before and took exams and immediately after they sent the email that I passed , I received another email to complete the background check..that wasn’t the case this time , so I was a little worried. how long do you think it would take to receive a interview invite?

Hello Everybody, I recently took the exam and passed, my question is does MNR normally send you the email to complete the background check first , or does the interview come first?

Hey, I’ve always been familiar with this site , but first time poster . I’m looking for a career change and I’ve been trying to get into the NYCT . In the past few week I saw metro north had a few openings, which I applied for & a few of them say passed prescreening. Has anyone else that has applied for Metro north in the past 3 months , head anything back yet, as far as interviews or testing ?
