  1. No waiting list, there's just going to be another class with 40 people but it doesn't have a date yet.
  2. I mean what's $25 for you to potentially get a pension? I personally think it's worth the money you spend to try and get this career.
  3. These are the potential classes coming up for C/Rs : 10/29- 100 People 12/10- 100 People 1/21/24- 100 People There is also a class of 40 that doesn't have a set date yet. Again nothing is guaranteed but this is from our union president.
  4. You'll get an email for medical and if you pass that you're basically hired. Or you can get another email for pre employment. (Yes it's normal to do 2-3 more pre-employments/drug test before you get hired)
  5. Don't miss out on this opportunity. I was out the country and got called for medical and I took a flight back to NY to take the test and took a flight back on vacation before class started. You miss out on this who knows when and if you'll get called again.
  6. You can choose where to invest your money with the 401k, so it can be way more then a savings account. There isn't matching mainly because we have a pension already. I would even do just 5% and leave it like that until you retire, you'll get a good penny when you're out of here. I personally do my own investments outside of the 401k as well (Dividends), but a 401 don't hurt.
  7. Yeah basically, There's that rare chance where you fall to the board and clear it. Which means you sat for 8 hours and got paid for it. Or you can pick up a 1 trip job and sit for the last 3-4 hours. (It's not always like this but there are those good days when it happens)
  8. You always got to put 3 points of contact on the train (Ex. 2 hands 1 foot). There's a small step you use to start your climb in the front or rear of the train. And yes it's 100% possible to fail but it's hard to if you put in the work. They want you to pass and will do anything to get you the job, you just need to do your part and study.
  9. Well overtime will be forced on you. As a new hire or XX, you will 100% be getting more then 40 hours a week because some jobs are more then 8 hours, or you fall to the board and sit for hours and pick up a whole job. They will never force you to work your days off though.
  10. It's good for 90 days, and it's possible after 90 days they might call you again cause it expired and they need another sample. So to answer your question it can take months, and 2-3 more urine samples.
  11. The TSS will let you step on the rail to give you a "boost" but the B division trains are higher then the A. If you're in the B division and can't climb the train they'll give you a chance on the A. There are short people in transit so I'm sure you can do it!
  12. Unfortunately his seniority won't be saved at all. Had a classmate who got called in the 1000s years ago and needed to take a sleep apnea test as well. Long story short he was in my induction class and he had the same seniority has everybody else.
  13. I literally worked with a T/O that has diabetes so I don't know what you think that lol.
