  1. For starters, they can eliminate the n57 and merge it with the n58. Also axe the n21 as it's kinda pointless now.
  2. Guess they don't want another R179 situation and rightfully so as that was highly disruptive. Atleast that happened during the pandemic at it's worst.
  3. That does make sense. NICE is getting a seperate lot to store these XE40s (and more electric buses are coming soon in 2025 according to NICE), so it would appear that the transition from CNG to BEV is well underway (for better or for worse)...
  4. As far as these XN40s go, I assume they are writeoffs..?
  5. 2009 Orion 7.501 NG CNG #1707 had a small engine fire back in 2015 while working on the n6 (IIRC), but nothing serious. Not unless you want to count those arrson fires at Cedar Creek last summer when some sobs set fire to 11 retired NG CNGs...
  6. I read somewhere that there supposedly a 168 car order somewhere for the B division, so maybe that will be what would eventually play out for the R68 replacements?
  7. The As are going to passanger service this spring aren't they? They better, cause they been testing for almost 2 damn years!
  8. I hear it's partially because WMATA is thinking about doing the same in the near future. But I would think it would only apply to local buses like the M12, BX16, B63, etc. More premium services like SIM lines (or express buses in general) or +SBS+ buses will continue to require busfares. Think about it, if the MTA were to make all buses free (and even subways), OMNY would be a colossal waste of money and would be pointless, and the MTA would likely fall unto an even greater state of disrepair. No one wants that....
  9. I was under the impression that the contractual agreements were going to be moot once NYCTA and MTA BC merged. Is that still in progess or has that pla been halted due to the pandemic?
  10. Be that as it may, last I check the neighborhood of Spring Creek is in Brooklyn and the Depot itself started out as a Brooklyn division Depot dating back to the Command bus days. Also, I was speaking more on the logistical side as Ulmer Park has 40ft, 45ft, and 60ft buses and since Spring Creek is better suited for 45ft OTR buses, they should take all the express routes. Since the lanes are being renumbered, the whole NYCTA vs MTABC boundaries are going to be a bit blurred, so I think it would be possible to get away with that despite whatever the unions try to say...
  11. Seeing that every other burrough and/or county in the area is redesigning their network, is NICE planing to do the same? I aware of the new n75 bus line that they launched recently, but anything more extensive in the works?
  12. Well, if it's assgned to NYCTA, then JG is almost a 100% guarantee unless FB gets it (which is also doable). However, from what I can tell, looks to me that the B81 is basically just a split route. Basically, the MTA is giving the B103 Limited the M5 treatment and the B81 would be the "M55" segment. In any case, I see no reason why Spring Creek can't continue to serve Downtown Brooklyn. While they are at it, they should give ALL the Brooklyn express bus service to Spring Creek, making it the sole express bus depot in Brooklyn since Ulmer Park will probably get the B5 and others. Take the load off of them.
  13. Exactly how many R32s are left on property? Around 70 cars?
