  1. BxM6 currently has 50 passengers, while BxM8 currently has 65 passengers going to the Bronx according to the passenger counters.
  2. 42 St Shuttle would be the 0 https://new.mta.info/sites/default/files/2019-06/t0cur.pdf
  3. would be local in Queens, is (usually) express in Queens.
  4. Q50 needs to go to Co Op City late nights when the Bx23 doesn't run. The Bx12 doesn't even directly connect to the E/B Bx28 anymore since the bus stop under I-95 was discontinued.
  5. Q44-SBS to Fordham (15-30 minute headways) would be an improvement over the Bx9 late nights (45-80 minute headways).
  6. The announcement marks the second consecutive summer Latimer has made the Bee-Line bus fare free Latimer took the same action last year during the Holiday shopping season https://www.westchestergov.com/home/all-press-releases/9857-westchester-county-executive-george-latimer-announces-bee-line-bus-fare-are-once-again-free-for-the-summer-from-july-1-september-4
  7. The will be on 6th Avenue next week on Saturday going to 96 St. The weekday once ran on QB until midnight, it got cut back in 2019, and 6th Avenue service was expanded in 2019 and severely cut back in 2020.
  8. The homeless and school kids will ride the free express bus.
  9. Every bus EXCEPT express buses would be free (Local, Limited, Select). Express Buses seem to be left out of everything (discounts, frequency increases), even commuter rail is cheaper with CityTicket.
  10. https://www.silive.com/news/2022/12/express-bus-riders-left-out-in-the-cold-in-free-mta-bus-ride-proposal-for-nyc-opinion.html
  11. It's Monday AND Friday, NOT Monday thru Friday, regular service will remain on the other weekdays.
  12. They would also have to extend the last Q50 bus to Co Op City 7 days a week to fully restore the span of service as Co Op City has no direct service after 1am from Pelham Bay Park. The Bx28 eastbound stop at Edson Avenue has been eliminated so anyone taking the Bx12 local has a much longer walk to get the Bx28 at night than before.
  13. Bx23: Additional 5-4-3-2-1 trips added on weekdays starting from section 5 (Earhart Lane) at 3:00AM, 3:30AM, 4:00AM, 4:30AM, 4:45AM, 5:00AM, 5:15AM, 5:30AM, 5:45AM, span on weekdays is expanded to start earlier to connect to the Q50. https://new.mta.info/document/88871
  14. The 60, 61, and 62 buses offer a one seat ride to Fordham Plaza (and officially free fare ride until September). Nothing should change as of now. The Bx30 transfer will not be directly at the Bx12, Bx12-SBS bus stop. Requiring those passengers to walk a bit.
  15. The Bx5 was proposed for 24/7 service in 2007 (along with the Bx1, Bx3, and Bx13) and had a slight span expansion in 2015. Span of service becomes a major issue if one has to work late and has limited options in which to get home without a long wait and/or walk.
  16. Bx5 to Bay Plaza on weekdays wouldn't be a waste. With the Bx23, Bx29, Q50, and W45 all terminating at Pelham Bay, the Bx5 going to Bay Plaza could free up space. Also with all Pelham Bay Bx5's extended to Bay Plaza service will be expanded from 10:30pm to at least midnight on weekdays on the Pelham Bay branch. The Bx5 would have to make an additional stop at Bartow Mall with the Bx12 SBS to help with the crowding. Some Bx5 buses leaving Bay Plaza do have some ridership. It doesn't help that the Bx5 stop is so far back of the mall. When the Bx12 SBS doesn't show up some people start going over to the Bx5 if it is there.
  17. Bx5 really needs overnight service. Story Avenue has no bus service at night. Bx39 needs to run to Clason Point until at least midnight from 241 St 7 days a week.
  18. Q50 will now run 24/7 because of the LGA extension. Would have been better if they had not already cut off peak service back to Pelham Bay Park. At least late night service should run to Co Op City.
  19. The renaming is to let people know that the City Island trips won't be stopping at Crosby and will be going straight on Bruckner. To speed up the trips for City Island riders and tourists.
  20. They should rename the City Island BxM8 trips BxM5 and just run them on Bruckner the whole way (skipping Crosby Avenue) to speed up the ride, but still serve the other stops. Run at least 4-6 trips as BxM5 to City Island. Running the BxM5 also on summer weekends can help boost ridership on the BxM8 corridor, especially on Sundays.
  21. Due to OMNY full roll out delay, Bx6-SBS may not get extended until 2024 as Metrocard will still be around until then.
  22. It would help if all express buses could have a minimum of 30 minute headways 7 days a week until 9pm, even on Sundays. It would help boost Sunday ridership. Kathy Hochul (NYCT buses) and Eric Adams (MTA Bus) would have to agree to give MTA additional funding specifically for this. The Riders Alliance is lobbying for additional funding to run subways and local buses 6 minutes during the day, so express buses should get a boost of their own if local bus and subway eventually get a boost. Extending the BxM4 to Yonkers Raceway would also help to justify boosting service to every 30 minutes most of the day. Extending summer weekend BxM8 service to City Island can also help as well.
  23. They need to add overnight service on the Bx5 in 2023
