Late night 3 does relay at Times Square.

Why are there some speed signs with non-round numbers? "D13" on the uptown at Penn, "23 miles" on the Forest Hills bound track at Steinway come to mind, but im sure there are many others.
There are a lot of others: "16 miles" leaving 57/7 on 1 track, and "17 miles" leaving DeKalb towards the tube. I have no clue why they don't end in a 5 or 0 though.

One of those AM B trains that do not go back to Brooklyn go to 207 yard for PM A train service.

Seems like there are more 160s on the R when it goes to 179 Street.

The F to Church is part of the station construction project.

hey guys, unfortunetly my journey to become a T/O has ended not because i failed anything i just resigned because more and more i proceed the less time i spend with my family and life all together..i went all the way to 15 weeks..passed my practicals and my first signal exam but T/O wasnt for me..i needed to spend more time with my 3 year old and this job would of took most of my time..this job isnt for everyone so please make sure you know you want this..meaning..the training isnt easy for what it is..its very intense and strict..dont be LATE or miss any days..study your SIGNALS ..your TSS's will drill you on signals and reading the iron everyday..i dont see how people are failing the signal exams my biggest fear was the dam practicals..hardest one would be cuts and adds..preparing a trainf or service is a piece of cake..PAY ATTENTION..especially your circuits, handbrakes, bco, mco, emergency brakes etc..your TSS plays a big role of you passing school car sad to say..some are here just for the money..Francis is a GREAT tss (francis with the dread hair) aka brooklyn francis..
-things that were told before you start school car are
-what do you think a T/O does? answer from class " operate up and down the tracks" WRONG you will see the amount of stuff you need to do and know
-be ready because this is 25 years to LIFE...you will have no family functions,no social life, and GET REST because you will need it
-DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CURRENT JOB...take a leave if you have to..trust me this saved me
Sorry to hear that, but you made the best decision. Francis was my TSS in school car. You might have seen me at Brighton a couple weeks ago.

Each trainer has a bit of insight for you. Take what you like and don't take what you don't like from each trainer. Ask questions as well. I take it you are in the A division.

There were signal problems north of Atlantic, and a sick passenger at Pacific. Some Ds and Ns went local and some Bs and Qs went over the West End and Sea Beach lines.

So the gets to 53 Street and 7 Avenue faster than the gets to 57 Street–7 Avenue. I took the from Queens Plaza and it left a few seconds after the began pulling out. Missing the at 7 Avenue by a few seconds, I decided to try running upstairs for the or instead. It was only 2 blocks north along the pavement, and when I descended the stairs, the headlights of the were already reflecting off the tiles of the station.
They really should consider building a free transfer between 7 Avenue/53 Street and 57 Street–7 Avenue. There are few transfer opportunities between the and the Broadway lines. Times Square–42 Street is a horrendously tedious transfer. And Queens Plaza only serves the , , and .
An out of system transfer can work.

Who's your other instructor?

I hope all goes well with you. I'm in the B division as well so I might see you eventually!

They considered me as a promotional and they said I can go back to conductor. I messaged someone in the Union and they said I can go back. I just entered on the forms that I worked with the MTA as a conductor. As long as you finish your probation as a conductor, you're good.

I'm currently a train operator in the B division who took both open competitive train operator and conductor exams. I was called for conductor first and when I became a train operator, I did not have to resign as a conductor at all.

Another important thing about the first practical, safety chains, remember to take them down before cutting!
Here's a tip regarding a red signal in the yard. Red and Ready both begin with an R.

Since my semester started yesterday at BMCC, which is near West Side Hwy, every time I go home, I always walk towards Chambers St & Church St to catch the . Can I enter the station at W Broadway & Chambers St and then walk via passageway to the instead of walking all the way to Church St/Chambers St? I know there is a passageway south of the platform on the , which leads to the .
There is no passageway from the Chambers Street and West Broadway station. The passageway at the A station at Chambers Street leads to Park Place on the 2 and 3.

I bet there people will pass up those Es and Fs that run local for the regular express.

There are probably regulars who ride the E to 179 along 8th Avenue.

This should be stickied.

Interesting at 0:52. Two conductors??
Awesome video, thanks for sharing.
One of them might have been in training.

Yeah it does have a stop for DeKalb. However, the way how "This is a Manhattan bound N train" is said is different.

There are trains stored on the express tracks because of the cold weather plan between Pacific and 59, so the D can't terminate at Pacific. Therefore, it is extended to Whitehall (which also gives riders a transfer to the F at Jay for Broadway-Lafayette and West 4).

With the , they relay their own train at Norwood, then bring it back out and go to Bedford Park since there's no crew room at Norwood.
IIRC, the does at Euclid late nights
The A does not have a crew change at Euclid during the late nights. However, sometimes a train will be swapped there.

The D and N went local on 4 Avenue to make room for work trains.
