  1. Problem with the North Shore Line is that houses and parks were built over it, and built over so well you can't tell a rail line was ever there (I was at the ERA meeting this past friday and they showcased some photos from the past when the North Shore Line was abandoned but still there and what it is today), and like Andy said, most of it is washed away.

The only station that remains well is the Port Richmond stop. Would make for a perfect light rail stop, getting there would be the problem.

  2. 3802,07-09,11-12 and 17 are said to be at CAS and 3815 is said to be at YUK.

What buses are going to be retired by the Next Gen. O7's?

I did see 3807 at CAS, and two others sittin towards the back of the garage yesterday.

  3. Cool photos!

I have a feeling a new bridge will have both PATH and (NJT) light rail running on it, especially with the PA5 cars coming into play.

Maybe one side will have catenary, and the other side 3rd rail?

Blah! PATH had its chance when there was abandoned ROW that HBLR is now sitting on.

    Sorry man, ain't happening! :P

  4. m8s? Then ill say shinkansen!
    lol!

the line is more likely to get pa5 cars than anything else, because pa5 are fra cleared, and they are about to make about a hundred or so of them for path. If they did that, they could do dual mode cat/3rdrail trains or modify the hblr cars to run on 3rd rail as well and bam there ya go. Not likely, but possible.

    ha, hahahahaha.
  5. I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ8 (Nickname: Sweetness). It works wonders since I've been able to improve my photography alot with it. But time to step it up even more.

    Nation, here is my wishlist:

Nikon D60 with a 18-55 mm lens, with also a 55-200 mm lens.

From there I'll keep going up the levels of DSLRs and whatnot.

  6. Hey do you think that 3800 could be ex 1295. Think about it. 1295 is built to MTAB specs. They probably just changed the back.

Thats what some people thought but we don't know. Most are thinking that 3800 is brand new.

  7. when i ask someone about the Orion NG not appearing on Sunday at the Roadeo. he said it was damage, and he also told me the seating arrangement is not official. the total capacity is suppose to be 43 seats. 24 seats in the front 2x2. and 19 in the back. the seating is suppose to be short-coach seats seating. the seats seen at the roadeo was just to test it. he doesn't know about if 3800 is a real bus or not.

Seems very skeptical. I'll have to look over the specs again, and I don't remember them too well at the moment, been a while.

  8. Right, thats still confusing to me, but 3800 is supposed to be a production demo. What if it is built to MTA Specs????

Then it might just be the real "3800".

The one thats here might not be our real 3800. Now, it will go back to Orion, and probably get the changes done and send it back to the MTA. If not, Orion is going to build the real 3800.

  9. Apparently some (buschat) are saying 3800 is simply a demo due to numerous features and details that the (MTA) normally does not incorporate into production buses (such as pull cords, extra lighting etc.) Also, some are even saying buses 3801 and 3805 do not exist. So this would be interesting.

Yup, that is correct. Some people pointed it out right from the moment they arrived at the roadeo when they saw pull cords on the bus, I know I noticed that QUICKLY. Now, there were quite a few other things pointed, mainly by Trevor Logan when he took a look at the bus. The bars on the back doors, the schedule racks, the grey walls, the exterior side LED lights, the interior LED lights, and the mirrors, all not MTA specs. Almost everything else was fine. Now, another things, had North Carolina plates in the back, another immediate giveaway. Also, for it to be in service, it must have a license plate in the front I heard, which it didn't have. So, what does that mean, the bus has not been in service.

And the other "supposedly* buses that are here, 3801, and 3805, doesn't exist in New York City! I knew it from day one.

  10. I heard from my uncle, who works at Castleton, and said that the NG buses won't be going to Castleton because of the problems that they are having. They are switching them to Carey Stengel. He said that there were a lot of problems. I don't understand why there are so many problems with the buses in Staten Island.

Sadly the wash in Castleton is damaging the buses so its best to put somewhere temporarily until problems are fixed.

  11. That's exactly the corner!

I was out and about today on the Island (S46, S48, and S54) and it was like a 1999 Orion V world with a few Novas living it in it. No sight of any O7 NGs, although I did catch a Yukon Nova on the S54 which is pretty rare

They don't want to send them out because the wash in Castleton is causing problems and doing damage to the bus. If they can't resolve that soon, according to an SI Driver on TransitStuff, they'll be heading to Casey Stengel (My response to that :"NOOOOOoo!!!!!!!!").

  12. So the buses are here! This Friday, Trevor Logan and Ray of TransitStuff along with myself will be going to get together Friday and get over to Staten Island to see these buses.
I'll be joining up with you guys that day to do some hunting.

I'll be doing some hunting these upcoming days also.

  13. Ok, uh, well, I was told just abit ago, that uh, 3800-01 are for real, like very for real I was told. So, happy hunting. Hawk from TS is saying 3805 is in, and my friend is saying he could be right about that too.

  14. THEY ARE HERE! Two NGs, 3800 and 3801 are at Castleton, and will be in service tomorrow!

Good luck to those looking for it. I'll wait a week before I go look for them or until photos come out.

C'mon, think about the numbers 3800-01.....
